Chapter Twenty Four - Running away from problems

A annoyed Dan and I arrived at the Ostroff Centre, in the middle of a heated discussion about what was going on.

"I can't believe you would encourage having her committed." Dan says

"What do you expect Daniel? I've been where she is. 7 years ago that was me in hospital with drugs and alcohol in my system swearing till I was blue that I was okay. That 'nothing was wrong' 'It wasn't my fault' 'I wouldn't do it again' And I believed it myself. The girl you met is not the same one we know."

"So i've been told."

"Dan I'm telling you, she needs help. sooner rather than later and trust me the later is far worse off. Don't do anything stupid."

I saw Mom coming down the stairs at fast pace head for Rufus, Jenny and Vanessa.

"Rufus you're not going to believe what just happened" I walked over

"What's wrong?" Rufus asked

"It's Serena. She's gone." Mom told us. I looked around Blair and Chuck was still here. I groaned

"I should have known." I say "Dan sprung her. He's the only one of us that is opposed to Serena getting help." we drove back home and I opened the door to my house and i saw Serena there. Mom and Blair weren't far behind. Dan came down.

"Rosie." I shoved past him and went to my wardrobe. I changed my clothes and went to my office. I'm done. I'm so fucking done. I called for the jet to be ready and fuelled. I then packed up my things.

"Rosie what are you doing."

"Leaving. Leaving you, Leaving New York. I'm so done with everything. I asked you, I asked you to leave it to leave her to get help and you went behind my back and chose her."

"Rosie"

"I don't care!" I scream at him "She ruins everything they all do and the only thing I had to keep me grounded to keep me sane when everything else went to shit was you. You were the only one that never let me down." I shove my things into suit cases then go into the bathroom I swipe everything of mine into a toiletry bag. The drop it into my case and zip it up. I drag it down stairs

"Rosalie. Where are you going?" I ignored them and went out to the awaiting car. i hand my things over

"Rosie. No." Dan pulled me away from the car I look back up and saw Serena

"You want him so much, have him, like you have everything else." I took my ring off and my necklace and drop them.

"Rosie, please. Please don't do this. Please don't leave."

"You already did that." I got in the car as did the driver and I was taken away

--3rd Person-

Rose drove away as Dan dropped to his knees-he picked up the necklace and ring then looked back. He couldn't lose her. He took his phone out and called the first person he knew where Rosie would do.

"Chuck. I need your help. I messed up."

"What did you do now Humphrey. Oh wait I remember you chose Serena. Why should I help you."

"Because I love her. I did what I did because I thought it was right."

"Goodbye Humphrey." Chuck hung up and Dan turned around to the others giving a leading look to his step mother.

"Lily, please." She looked back at Serena but nodded and took out her phone to make some calls.

"Dan." Serena touched his shoulder and Dan flinched away. He ran back inside and grabbed a few things keeping a hold tight on the ring and necklace.

"What are you doing Humphrey? You don't even know where she's going."

"It doesn't matter. I messed up, I tried to help and it bit me in the ass."

"I agree, but she need time to cool off, you know that more than anyone." Blair replied but Dan Ignored her

"She's on the way to their airport, she's asked the jet to be ready for her arrival." Serena came and told them.

"I wanted to help you. I really did and I believe you but I can't lose her." Dan explained and Serena nodded

"I know, Mom's called you a car, to be honest I think she's kind of relieved that you won't be here to try and stop her from getting me to go back." Dan walked past them and downstairs. He waited and when the car came he didn't waste no time and getting in and be taken to their airport. He caught her going onto the plane. Dan jumped out and ran over and up the stairs and into the jet.

"Rose."

"What the...." she trailed off as he breathed heavily

"Look, you can't just run away anytime I screw up in you're eyes because if you did that we'd probably never be together. Just like if you screwed up which you kinda do. Though you have gotten better." he breathed. He walked closer to where she sat.

"But we're human and we're a couple, we are not going to agree on everything, and like today I'm not always gonna listen. I will do what I think is right. Just like you will. But I love you Rosie, I love you so much that I dropped what I know is right which is helping Serena and followed you here. I followed you here because when it comes down to it, you will be my first choice." he put the ring and necklace on the table

"You said once that if I didn't want you to do something ask. I am asking you not to run away. I am asking you to stay even when it gets rough. I am asking that you accept that I won't always agree with you." he sat down across from her " I am asking you to chose me instead of leaving." Rosie wiped away her tears and nodded

"Okay." she agreed "Okay." Rose took the engagement ring and looked at it.

"I don't want it back." he told her and took it from her then slipped it back onto her finger "This is where it belongs" Rosie then took the necklace and fixed it back around her neck.

"I will cancel the flight." Rosie stood up and went to go do just that. Dan let out a huge sigh of relief

They arrived home. Dan grabbed her bags and they entered the brownstone. On the side table near the door there was a note from Lily that Serena went back to the Ostroff Centre willingly.

"Come on, I will make us something to drink." The two headed down into the kitchen and she sat down at the kitchen table. Dan made two cups of hot chocolate and then sat down with her, they didn't speak for a while. The doorbell went and Dan left to go answer it. He opened the door and Blair stood there.

"Oh good your here. Is..."

"She's downstairs, come in." she walked past him and waited for him to lead her downstairs to where Rosie sat sipping her hot chocolate.

"Blair? Aren't you supposed to be with Serena or on a plane to France?" Rosie asked

"I missed my flight and Serena is where she need to be. I came because I owe Dan and apology. Juliet may have been behind Serena's overdose" Blair showed them the mask

"And I have no intention letting it go unavenged. I need the two of you to help me find her and extract a confession. You In?" she asked them

"Do I get to vent my frustration on her?" Rosie wondered and Blair smiled slightly

"I wouldn't have it another way." Blair answered. Rosie looked up to Dan and shrugged. Dan sighed

"We're in."
