Chapter Eleven - His First choice

-3rd Person-

Dan arrived home, Lily and Vanessa were gone but Rufus was packing up some things.

"Hey, you're still here?" Dan wondered as he closed the door behind him.

"Lily went to get her hair done for Chuck's Gala. I'm taking a pass. So I thought I'd get some of my stuff out of here and organise it at home. Give Vanessa the closet space. Didn't she find you at Nate's?" Dan opened and closed his mouth

"Geez for kids addicted to their cell phones, you never use them to communicate."

"I was with Rosie actually." Rufus stops what he's doing.

"Dan, you need to face what's going on here."

"What? Milo is gone I don't need to be a Dad to a kid I never helped create. Can't I have a fun day out with my girlfriend. And she still is by the way."

"Not if involves lying to your best friend who your living with. Dan, talk to me." Dan sighed and held up his hand gesturing to hold on. He went into his room and grabbed the box.

"When Milo was here, every decision i made was for his benefit. But now I wonder if I made the wrong choices. When Georgina showed up here that day...pregnant I was about to fly to Paris. I was gonna fly there meet up with Rosie when she got off the plane and finally, finally have the balls to propose to her." he showed his Dad the ring.

"I had been putting it off because despite the fact that I wanted to do it, I kept chickening out. Yet when I saw her drive off in the car gone for three months, that thought drove me insane. And I felt like a complete idiot for even second guessing. And..." his phone started ringing

"I'm sorry it's Nate I gotta take this." he answered "Nate I'm sorry man I was about to call I just..." Nate cut him off

"I covered for you. I think Vanessa bought it, but you know i'm a bad liar. What's going on."

"I was gonna come to you but I went to Rosie instead." he answered

"I don't get it?" Nate replied

"Neither do I, but I think I'm slowly getting there. But nothing happened we were actually helping Blair investigate Chuck's new girlfriend.

"Why would you do that?"

"Actually it was more helping Rosie prove Blair wrong but that didn't go so well, but that's all I can say cause I promised Blair."

"You're making promises to Blair now?"

"Rosie, Blair sometimes the line is blurred."

"Wait so now your promises to Blair mean more than your pact with me? Or your friendship with Vanessa?"

"Nate, she's a prostitute?"he blurted out

"What?!"

"I don't mean in a gold digger, Eva's into Chuck's money way. I mean she, like got a web page and a price list. But you can't tell Chuck, please don't tell Chuck. Blair wants to deal with this and Rosie wants to deal with Blair."

"Yeah I bet they do." Chuck came home "I'll speak to you later." Nate hung up. Dan looked through pictures on his phone.

"I'm gonna go deal with this stuff." Rufus tells him "Sure you don't wanna keep me company?"

"Yeah. No, Vanessa just texted she's gonna be out late with some friends from school so I thought I'd catch up on some stuff."

"Well you need to talk, she's your best friend."

"I know, we'll talk tomorrow." His phone started ringing just as Rufus left
