Chapter fifty two- no moment alone

Hi, this is Rosalie Bass-Humphrey please leave a message after the tone.

Rose, I know you really don't like me right now and that's fine. But I wanted to warn you to be careful of Charlie. She set me up and it's only a matter of time before she tries going up against you.

Sister, I know your mad at me but I want to apologise. Something is happening and it's time to circle the wagons. Whether you mad at me or not we're family and we're all each other has.

Rosie, figures your sleeping I wanted to tell you this as soon as possible. I'm engaged, Louis proposed. Call me back so we can gush...please.

"So, I thought we try something different for breakfast." I lifted up the blindfold.

"Sound x-rated." I laughed and covered his eyes. I then bring out several breakfast foods. I set them out then sit across rom him.

"Ready?" he nods and I feed him a chocolate covered strawberry

"Humm Um, I thought it was breakfast. Foods?" he thought

"It is just nice and sweet. Okay next one." I fed him a piece of a pancake, then some cereal. Then Decided to tease him I sat myself on his lap. I smother my lips in syrup and kiss him.

"Hum." he kisses back pulling me even closer to him. Things were getting heated when the doorbell rang. We pulled away."

"That's it for summer we're going to the Cabin, no interruptions, this is getting ridiculous." I huff. It rang again. I groaned and got up going to answer it. I was shocked by who was there.

"Jack?!"

"Niece, so nice to see you." he grins.

-Rose-

I stood on the rooftop of Chuck new building reno in Brooklyn, I heard the door open and shut. My brother joined me

"Glad to see you got my message. I know no amount of apologising..."

"Then don't bother, we have bigger problem. You were right, we are under attack and it's time to circle the wagons." he looks a little taken back but nods. A hour later I looked out over the city as Chuck was talking with his site manager.

"Rosie, would you please come away from the edge you're making me nervous." I held my hands up and stepped away. "Well look who's finally come to her senses." I turn to see who he was talking to. I rolled my eyes at his comment to Blair.

"Dan told me, Rosie was here with you." She came and pulled me over "Louis and I were still very much engaged."

"Then why are you here with me?" he asks

"I'm here with Rosie, you just happen to be here. I'm risking my well being to tell you that your Uncle Jack is in town. I saw him myself this afternoon."

"Makes sense. New building, new way to hurt me."

"Cause everything is about you." I retort

"I just came to warn the two of you so you can prepare for what Jack is planning."

"And how can I prepare for what your planning."

"Come on Blair, I'll walk you out." I took her arm and lead her back out of the building site, to her waiting taxi."

"Thank you for coming Blair."

"To be honest I was surprised when Dan told me you were with him. He didn't say why though." she replied and I wished i could tell her everything but right now wasn't an option.

"At some point I will. But for now, go prepare for the party tonight, okay." I give her a hug and see her drive off.

-3rd Person-

When Rosie finally left, Louis stormed into the site to talk with Chuck.

"Your highness. You'll forgive me if I'm too busy to bow." he comments looking over the plans for the building.

"I don't appreciate sarcasm. Or for that matter, anything else about you."

"Then we're equal." Chuck retorts

"Except I'm not pursuing your fiancee. I know Blair came here to see you." Chuck laughs

"Blair didn't come to see me, she came to see my sister."

"Said sister who hates you, I'm sure."

"In our inner circle we have fights and disagreements all the time. Besides have you ever thought she's pursuing me?"

"I highly doubt that since you humiliated both of them in front of the royal court. So why don't you tell me what's going on?"

"Shouldn't you be asking Blair that?" Chuck questioned

"I want the truth."

"If you can't trust Blair to tell you the truth, you've got bigger problems than me. All I say is get used to it. Blair is nothing without her secrets, especially if it's regarding my sister. Now if you don't mind I have a real foe to fight"

"What is that supposed to mean?" Chuck never answered "What happened to your hand?"

"It will heal in time. Unlike you, whose facing a lifetime doubting Blair." he was handed a tube of papers. Louis left to get ready for the party.

"Meanwhile at the van der wooden humphrey. Charles was getting ready, Serena had planned to send her in her place but then last minute she was going to go.

"Hey sorry to barge in, but I'm think about going to Blair's party after all. You can still come with me though. I just wanted to check if there's a dress in my closet."

"No, problem. Ugh this is terrible. I can't even decide how to wear my hair. Do your feet hurt after wearing heels all night? Does anyone dance like Dan for example? Do you prefer lipstick or lip gloss." Charlie ranted off

"Okay breath. Lipstick last longer but gloss is more fun. Dan does love to dance but he's not so good, so don't laugh, though he might improved if Rosie's been teaching him. And your feet won't hurt just as long as you have the right amount of alcohol Just be yourself. That's what Rosie and I did at cotillion and it was a magical night. Your hair looks great down." Serena left and Charlie went back over to the dresser, there were two pictures one of Serena and Dan the other of Serena, Dan and Rosie.
