Cato is dressed very nicely and so am I, as we reach district eleven.
"So, Cato, Effie and I've decided that you'll not get a lot of text considering that Katniss had that great bond with that little girl and the fact that you've killed Tresh" Alora says in the most not caring way ever.
Cato just nods and I grab his hand. I squeeze it three times, making him look at me. A slight smile forms on his face, before we get interrupted. The back of the car gets opened and we're told to step out. We arrive at the justice building or something and walk inside. I catch girl on fire's eyes from wide away already. She looks frightened to see me.
"Good morning" I say with the nicest smile possible.
"Good morning Athena" Haymitch says with a smile.
"Morning" Peeta mumbles.
"You look terrified" I say, and chuckle.
"We are" Peeta says and laughs.
"It's okay. It's going to be over sooner or later. Just read the cards and everything's going to be fine"
All three of them nod and we hear their names being announced.
"You can do it" I say, trying to comfort Cato. He just nods, before he's pulled onto stage.
They all walk up awkwardly to the microphones, and Peeta's the first one to say something.

"Thank you," he says, taking out his cards. "We're honoured to be here with you today. And to be with the families of your fallen tributes"
Peeta takes a long and careful look at the people infront of him, before he puts down the cards.

"Huh, he put down the cards" Effie squeels.
"Shh" Haymitch tries to calm her down.
"Why do I even bother?" she asks annoyed and clearly hurt.
I roll my eyes and focus on our victors again.

"Though they faught and dignity until the end, both Tresh and Rue were so young. But our lifes aren't just measured in years. They're measured in the lives of people we touch around us" Peeta says, and Katniss looks at him with a painful look. I saw her crying for Rue. It was literally heartwrenching. Rue didn't deserve this. Neither did we all.
"For myself, for Cato, for Katniss..." he goes on, and looks over at Katniss. They exchange a deep look before he continues. "...we wouldn't be standing here today. So in recognition of that knowing that it in no way can make up for your loss, we'd like to donate one month of our winnings to the families of the tributes, every year, for the rest of our lives"

I look over at Haymitch with a confused look.
"Oh shit" Haymitch then says.
"Can he do that?" Cinna asks.
"He can't. But he did" Haymitch says shaking his head.
"Why doesn't he just stick to the cards?" Effie asks, taking a deep breath to calm herself down.

Peeta and Cato turn away but Katniss hesitates. She looks at Rue's family for a long time before he steps back up to the microphone.
"I just wanted to say that, I didn't know Tresh I only spoke to him once. He could've killed me, but instead he showed me mercy. That's a debt I'll never be able to repay. I did know Rue. She wasn't just my ally, she was my friend. I see her in the flowers that grow in the meadow by my house. I hear her in a Mockinjay song. I see her in my sister Prim. She was too young, too gentle. And I couldn't safer her. I'm sorry" she says, her voice high and wobbly now.
That's when a man rises his hand, kisses three fingers, and holds them hight into the air, whisteling a certain melody. The other people turn to look at him before more and more hands start slowly rising in the air.

"No" I whisper. I know what's about to happen.
"No" I say louder now. I walk away from Haymitch and the others and open the doors outside. I see the peacekeepers walking into the crowd, and taking the man with them. The peacekeeper on the stage, grab Cato and Peeta but can't get me, as I walk after Katniss.
"No!" I shout even louder now.
I feel two men grabbing me by my arms now. Katniss and I are both shouting for them to let the man go. We continue screaming, as we get pulled away. I'm trying with my whole strength to get them off of me, but I can't. We see the man getting thrown onto the ground in front of us and hear a shot, as the doors close.
