chapter seven

I wake up with Cato's arms wrapped tightly around me. His hands are resting on my belly as his head is resting on my shoulder. 
"Good morning" I say, turning around.
"Good morning" he says with a grin.
"Ready for training?" I ask him.
"I am. You?" 
"Ready to throw knives" I say, and he looks at me worried.
"No, you can't throw knives. You have to do as less as possible Athena. We have to be sure that you won't injure yourself" he says, and I laugh.
"Cato, come on. Nothing's going to happen. I'm fine" I say.
"But-"
"No but. It's my body and I say that it's okay. I need to train okay?" I say, and he nods.

We get out of bed and he starts telling me about what I need to look out for, especially since I'm pregnant. I kind of like the overprotective Cato but I know that it'll piss me off sometime.
"Cato, stop being so overprotective. I can do that" I say.
"I know, I just want to make sure that nothing happens" he says.
"Nothing is going to happen, okay? I'm going to be fine. Please try to not catch the attention of the others" I say, and he nods.
We finish getting dressed, before we walk to the dining room. Enobaria and Brutus are already sitting there discussing something.
"Good morning" I say, and sit down. Cato does too and starts putting food on his plate. He looks at me weirdly for not taking any but catches up fast. I can't eat any because I'll vomit if I do.
"We wanted to talk to you about allies" they say.
"And?" I ask, trying to put my hair into a ponytail.
"We want you to be allies with Cashmere and Gloss" Brutus says.
"No way" I say, and chuckle.
"This wasn't a question" Brutus says.
"I know. No. We already have allies" I say.
"And who?" Enobaria asks. She looks mad.
"Odair, Mason, and a few other tributes" I say.
"But Cashmere and Gloss would be way better" Brutus says.
"Maybe but we'll stick with the others. Thank you for the request though" I say, and get up.
"Where are you going?" Brutus asks angrily.
"Training" I say, and walk away. Cato follows soon behind me as I push the button for the elevator. He still has his mouth full with food.

He says nothing to me about what just happend, instead we get inside the elevator and drive down in silence. We arrive at the training-hall around ten minutes early. A lot of the other tributes are here already though. I recognize a few from last night but there are others who I have no clue of who they are. I guess, I'll have to keep an eye open during training then. I need to sort them from most dangerous to least. Cashmere and Gloss arrive around two minutes later than we do. They look us up and down before walking over to one of the stations.
"They looked mad" Cato says.
"Yup. Come on, lets get to work" I say and we walk off. I decide to try the knife throwing one. I press the level "hard" on the computer, as orange figures start moving around. Quickly, I throw knife after knife at them until every one is gone. I'm breathing heavily.
"That was amazing" Johanna says.
"Thanks" I say, and smile at her.
"Can you do that with a bow?" she asks.
"Wanna see?" I ask her, and she chuckles.
"For real now?" she asks, clearly not believeing me.
I walk over to the big simulation and take one of the bows. I look back, to see that Finnick, Cato and Peeta have joined too.
"You can shoot with a bow?" Finnick asks me.
"You would be surprised what she can do" Cato says proudly.

I push the level "hard" button again before I take one of the bows and a few arrows. I step inside as the doors close behind me and step onto a square. Quick, I see a few orange figures forming again. They're moving towards me now and even have weapons. A few of them are very easily to hit. One of them even throws an axe at me that I dodge easily before shooting an arrow at it. I quickly turn around and see one coming at me with a sword. I take a step to the right, as it goes to hit me and shoot it in the head. Another one forms at a corner to my right. I manage to lean back, again avoiding the arrow it shoots and shoot it right back. Another one comes running at me but I shoot it easily. I wait for others to come but they don't. I turn around towards the glass and see almost every tributes standing there. Maggs looks at me happily.
"I didn't know you could do that?" Johanna says.
"You're amazing" Peeta says, clearly feeling a little intimidated.
"Thank you" I say, trying to seem nice. 
That's when Katniss walks over. She seems annoyed. Probably because I just stole the show from her. And because she's not the only girl good with a bow.
"I'll rather stick to my knives though" I say, holding intense eyecontact with her. A smirk forms on my face and she rolls her eyes before walking away.
"You know we're supposed to ally with her, right?" Finnick says.
"Doesn't eliminate the fact that I don't like her" I say, and walk away again. 

I'm just learning something about food when Cashmere walks over.
"Hello Athena" she says in a weird tone.
"Cashmere" I say, not looking at her.
"Enobaria and Brutus told us that you and your fiancé don't want to be allies with us" she says. I roll my eyes, at her annoying voice.
"And?"
"I wanted to ask why?" she asks.
"Why?" I ask again, and chuckle.
"Yes, why" she says, clearly annoyed now.
"Because we don't want to. Not everyone wants to be with you two" I say.
"What is that supposed to mean?" she asks offended.
"It means that you and your brother aren't half as good as you think you are"
"Take that back" she says.
"Why?" I ask mocking her voice.
"You bitch" she says, and pushes me back. I just laugh at her, what makes her even more angry.
"You're pathetic Cashmere" I say with a smirk on my face. 
She goes to hit me but I dodge her punch. A few peacekeepers run over seperating me and her.
"I'm going to kill you Athena" she shouts over and over again.
"Oh, I can't wait" I say, making fun of her. She gets so mad, that they take her out of the hall. Cato comes running over.
"What happend?" he asks worried.
"Just told Cashmere where her place is" I say.
"Did you have to start a fight with her" he says, and chuckles.
"Of course I had to" I say, and laugh. 

We continue the training until it's time to leave again.
We go up to our room again before we go upstairs to floor four. Finnick invited us over since Brutus and Enobaria would be here to if we invited them to floor two.
The door opens and we get greeted by an orange haired woman.
"Finnick has told so much about you. Come in" she says, and hugs us both. I'm a little surprised and so is Cato but we shrugg it off and follow her. Maggs and Finnick are already sitting on the sofa.
"Looks like you've already met my better half" Finnick says, and pulls her closer with one arm.
We all sit down as he hands us the drinks. Of course he doesn't give me one.
"Why aren't you drinking with us?" Annie asks.
"Finnick hasn't told you?" Cato asks surprised.
"Told me what?" she asks smiling, looking back and forth between me and Finnick.
"I'm pregnant" I say, and her and Maggs' faces grow wide.
"Oh my god. Congratulations" she says, and hugs me. 
"Dumb time to get pregnant but well, I can't change it now" I say laughing, as Maggs hugs me too.
"It's never a stupid time to get pregnant" she says.
"Getting pregnant before the games actually is quite stupid but we didn't plan on it" Cato says, and kisses my cheeck.
"Oh but unplanned is mostly the best" she says.
"Lets hope so" I say, and we all laugh. 

We spend the whole night talking about the districts, the other tributes and even the Capitol. Annie and Finnick are a lovely couple. They look so familiar with eachother as if they've been wit eachother sinc forever
