Lily's pov:
"Mom? I'm back." I said walking into her room. I waited a few seconds but she didn't respond. I assumed she was sleeping, so I walked over to her bed and checked her pulse to make sure she was still breathing.
I placed my hand on the side of her neck but I didn't feel anything.
I gasped in shock before hitting the button on the nightstand.
No one's pov:
Lily quickly ran into the hallway and looked around for help."Help! I-I need a nurse." Lily yelled.
"Lilian? Are you alright?" Gina asked after hearing Lily's yelling.
"Ma'am calm down." A nurse said towards the frantic teenager.
"My m-mom.. she she's not breathing." Lily finally said. The nurses eyes widened in shock.
"Get a doctor into room 83 on the first floor." The nurse spoke into a walkie-talkie.
"Lily calm down. Your moms gonna be fine." Gina said trying to calm down the girl.
"Let's go sit down, I need to call your father." Gina said.
"Don't. He's the reason that she's like this." Lily sobbed. Gina nodded, besides from Lily, Jared had no connection to Hailey anymore. And if Lily didn't want him here, he wasn't going to be here.
It felt like Gina and Lily were in the hospital for hours, but it was only a few minutes.
"Lilian Peterson?" A doctor called out. Lily immediately shot up.
"Could you please come back here.". The doctor asked.
Lily stood up with Gina right behind her. The doctor led them to a room and shit the door behind them.
"It appears that Mrs. Peterson passed away this morning. The cancer spread all throughout her body, we couldn't do anything about it." The doctor stated.
"We believe that Mrs. Peterson knew she was going to die soon, because she left a letter for you Lilian." The doctor explained handing Lilian a letter.
Dear Lily,
If your reading this, it means I have finally passed away. I honestly hope you never have to read this. I would like to be able to get out of this hospital and watch you live your life, I want to be able to meet the man your going to marry, watch you walk down the isle and see you graduate high school. But I'm well aware I won't make it that far.
I want you to know that I am in a better place now. A place without pain. A place where I can look down and watch you grow up.
You were right Lils, you won't be able to tell me when you and Stan start dating, because I'm no longer here. But when you sit by my grave I don't even want you to mention him.
I love you Lilian,
Love, Hailey A. Oliver
"We are very sorry for your lose Mrs. Peterson. Your mother was a very happy person to be around." The doctor said.
"Lily we should get going." Gina said. Her heart aches for the girl next to her. Gina knew how it felt to lose her mother. It wasn't a pleasant feeling.
"She's gone.. I never got to say goodbye.." Lily sobbed.
"There, there Lily. She's watching over you right now." Gina spoke softly.
"I guess your right."
