"Where were you guys?" Jared asked as Gina pulled her car into the driveway.
"Hailey's dead." Gina said. Jared opened his mouth to say something but Gina glared at him.
"Lily, come on. I'll make you some hot chocolate." Gina said as she opened the front door.
As Lily passed by her father, she saw how apologetic he looked.
"Are you happy now? You got your wish. My moms gone." She cried.
"Lily, I didn't-" He began.
"Save it." Lily said before going inside and slamming the door behind her.
Jared sat outside. Yes, he wanted Hailey gone, but his daughter was very upset about it. Who wouldn't be?

After her mothers death, Lily didn't leave her room. Gina would bring her food and leave it at the door everyday, but Lily would only eat a tiny portion of every meal.
Jared tried to reason with his daughter but felt that he was the reason her mom was dead. If he hadn't made her sign the divorce papers maybe she wouldn't of stressed about everything. Maybe she would still be here.
Besides from Gina and Jared, people were worried for Lily. It wasn't like her to not text someone throughout the day, especially when she didn't get her phone taken away.
Lily woke up one day, she had forgotten the date of what day of the week it was, to the sound of Stan's voice downstairs.
She slowly got out of her bed and opened the bedroom door. The sound of her door opening made both Jared and Gina look up at her room.
"Lily.? You're out of your room!" Jared exclaimed before running up the stairs to hug his daughter.
"Where's Stan?" Lily asked.
"Stan? Oh, you mean that boy you were seeing. He's been stopping by everyday for the past month trying to check up on you, even if I told him to go away." Jared explained.
A month. That's how long Lily had been locked in her room for. That's how long her mother had been dead.
"You told him to go away?" Lily said.
"Lily he's no good for you."
"You can't decide what's good for me anymore." Lily said before wiggling out of his grip. She ran back into her room.
"I hate to say it but I told you so Jared." Gina said from downstairs.
Before Jared could even reply, Lily ran out of her room and down the stairs, mumbling a quick, 'I'll be back' before running off.
"Stan!"
