»»------ serafina -------««

"WE HAVE TO go after that ship, Sokka." Serafina looked up toward Katara, who was previously staring at the ocean. Serafina was curled up into a ball, holding onto another cup of tea and drinking it lightly. The pain in her throat felt better, and she expected she could talk soon. Though, she wasn't sure if she wanted to. "Aang saved our tribe, now we have to save him."

Sokka was caring various objects into a small canoe resting in the water. He was caring blankets, food, even a lantern that had somehow managed to stay lit in the cold like this. Katara hadn't seemed to noticed his actions and Serafina watched, intrigued.

"Katara, I-"

"Why can't you realize that he's on our side? If we don't help him, no one will! I know you don't like Aang, but-"

"Katara! Are you going to talk all day or you coming with me?" Sokka cut off Katara's rant, showing her he was already on board. She smiled, and walked towards him and the boat. He pointed towards the small boat, and looked to Katara. "Get in. We're going to save your boyfriend."

"He's not my-"

"Whatever."

The old lady the leader had used as a demonstration walked up toward the two. "What do you two think you're doing?" She held out sleeping bags with a loving smile. "You'll need these. You have a long journey ahead of you." The old lady walked towards them, making Serafina wonder whether that was their grandma of some sorts. "It's been so long since I've had hope, but you brought it back to life, my little water bender." She wrapped Katara in a hug, and it made Serafina realize how much she wanted to go home again. She let go, turning towards Sokka. "And you, my brave warrior, be nice to your sister. Aang is the avatar. He's the world's only chance. You both found him for a reason." She turned around towards Serafina. She shifted her weight from where she was sitting, uncomfortable at the three sets of eyes now on her. "And you were brought here for a reason, too." She gestured to all of them. "You're destinies are now intertwined with his, and your very actions could impact the future of our world."

Serafina furrowed her eyebrows at the woman's words. There for a reason? She wasn't there for a reason. She was dragged here and now she's stuck. She'd go home anytime she had the chance. For all she knew, she was dead and this was her hell. All she wanted was to go home.

Katara asked the obvious question. "How are we gonna catch a war ship with a canoe?" As soon as the words left her mouth, a large and deep grumbling came from on top of the hill infront of the four, a large, furry animal showing itself. Serafina's eyes widened. "Appa!" It groaned, opening it's mouth to show the teeth that were about as big as all four of the people combined.

"You just love taking me out of my comfort zone, don't you?"

Serafina looked at Appa with a credulous look on her face. Katara looked to her with expectancy, and advanced towards her. "Appa won't hurt you, we promise. Come on, I'll help you up." Serafina wasn't sure why they were expecting her to go, but she wasn't too hell bent on staying with more strangers. She'd take familiarity over anything at this point. Katara held out her hand towards the girl whom she didn't know belonged, or her name for that matter. Serafina could still taste the hot tea she'd drank mere moments before and hesitantly took her hand.

Sokka looked at her with suspicion in his stare. It could almost be interpreted as a glare, but just too much pity relay inside of them. Serafina wasn't sure how to act, or what to do. She had never been in such situations, and it was extremely overwhelming. She mindlessly weaved her hands together and began fiddling with them, trying to ignore the set of eyes on her back as the creature they'd been sitting on started to move towards the water.
