[All Of The Girls You Loved Before by Taylor Swift]
Katie had seemed to calm down after a couple minutes of Taylor holding her in the entryway, combing fingers through her hair and kissing her temple over and over and over until she was sure it would be the same colour as her lipstick.
Taylor held her so tightly she thought she might burst, although it helped her relax and was a nice reminder that she wasn't alone. Eventually Taylor started to sway them a little, their bodies still smushed together in an embrace that felt more like home that anything Katie had ever experienced.
"I've been waiting forever to get to love you like this again," Taylor murmured against Katie's temple, placing another kiss for the hell of it, "I'd never do anything to screw that up on purpose. I'm going to make a lot of mistakes, but cheating will never be something you have to worry about."
"I'm sorry," Katie adjusted her arms around Taylor's neck, her eyes still watery, "It was insecurity."
"It's okay. I've... I've worried the same thing, alright? Not this time, but in the past. I get it."
"About who?" Katie knit her eyebrows, sniffling to regain her composure.
"You and Audrey," Taylor admitted with embarrassment, "You guys cuddle. I'm not worried about it anymore."
"Mm, yes. Audrey, the same Audrey that literally once told me that if we dated she'd have to murder me. She even said she'd do it in my sleep with a knife. You have lots to worry about, that's a hot package she's offering," Katie chuckled to try and lighten the mood.
Taylor rolled her eyes, "I'm going to kiss you even though you're sassing me."
"I'm all snotty, no," Katie intercepted Taylor's attempt with a gentle palm to the face, "Wait!"
Taylor groaned and found a box of tissues on the table in the entryway, passing it to her girlfriend with an unserious glare. Katie took it with her all the way to the bathroom, and then proceeded to wash her hands and come back out. Taylor accepted her with open arms, enjoying how Katie held her jaw as usual.
"We just communicated and avoided a fight," Taylor smiled when they broke apart, allowing herself a moment to be proud of their progress in such a short time span.
"Look at us go!" Katie pecked Taylor's lips again, and then lowered her hands from the blonde's jaw towards her collarbone softly, "Imagine if our eighteen year old selves could've just talked in that bathtub instead of panicking."
"What were we thinking sharing a bath at eighteen? God, that was way too much. I'm doing that thing where I want to punch my past self into outer space."
"I know," Katie looked down at their feet, "The person that I was back then, she wouldn't have believed who I am now. She probably would have called me a loser."
"I wouldn't have let her," Taylor unwrapped her arms from around her girlfriend and clasped their fingers together, tugging just enough to get the actress to walk towards the living room with her, "I can't picture you saying you are a loser. Your dream was to be what you are, you're an incredible actress, babe."
"It's not the job," Katie shrugged, "I guess I just thought I would have more by now. More friends, more self esteem, more amazing memories. All that stuff."
"There's still lots of time to do all that stuff," Taylor pulled her knees closer to her chest on the sofa, her feet up on the fabric.
"Maybe with you?" Katie asked, she mimicked Taylor's body language and pose in a self-soothing manner. She was still feeling uneasy, it would take time for her to fully be able to relax.
