[Sweet Nothing by Taylor Swift]

In February, Katie had already been filming her new movie with Kaia Browne for about a month and a half. Most of the scenes that had been done had been far out of Taylor's interest but on one particular Thursday, Taylor knew exactly what scene Katie was filming.

Katie was filming a heated kiss on the doorstep. Her character was a former teen-mom with a teenager who was going to drop a balloon full of paint on their heads from an upstairs window in an attempt to sabotage her dating life. Taylor not only wanted to see Katie get coated in goop that smelled like rotten eggs, but despite never having an issue with it before, she felt like she needed to be present to supervise the kiss. Katie had protested that idea because it was going to be awkward for her and her co-star and she was going to have a hard time focusing with Taylor staring daggers at them.

Taylor knew it was her job. She had dated enough actors to know it wasn't pleasant and she herself had done on-screen kisses that were gag worthy. On the other hand, she was fiercely protective of their relationship and she felt like it would be better to just know how it went down.

"It kind of feels like you don't trust me," Katie said almost too casually as she played with a few strands of hair. She was already in her outfit and was just waiting for everyone to be ready before she left her trailer, "I thought we worked through this like, a year ago."

Taylor was sitting on the couch admiring the material of it when she replied, "It's not you that I don't trust. Everyone's up to something."

"It's my job, Taylor," Kate sighed, "You knew that ten years ago and you know that now. I am an Oscar winner because of romance movies, we kiss. You have genuinely studied me kissing my coworkers."

"I'll stay here then," Taylor didn't want to get into a fight over it, she hated fighting. It was like climbing a mountain with no view at the top, brutally exhausting with no reward.

"Well, honey, you already came to work with me and they Covid tested you and everything. You can wait here and sulk about it or you can come and watch me make out with somebody else but I'm not going to apologize for it because trust me, I'm nervous as fuck. We've got one take and I have to focus on not throwing up at the fake paint smell."

"I'll stay here," Taylor repeated her decision as she laid down on the couch.

"Okay then..." Katie pursed her lips, "I love you, I'll be back later."

"I love you," Taylor said it back right away. Her pride was not worth sacrificing those words. It was not something okay to hold over Katie's head and she was well aware of that, "Kate?"

"Yeah?" The actress closed the trailer door after only opening it a crack.

"Kill it."

"I will," the blonde smiled weakly, "You're sure you are going to stay here?"

"No," Taylor sighed that time, "But I don't want to bug you at work."

"Let's go," Katie walked towards her and extended her hand, "You probably want to meet Kaia, anyways."

"I do want to meet the Kaia Browne."

Katie made her way onto the actual set and sipped at from her water bottle before she set it down on her chair when she saw Kaia enter. They got along fairly well, it was very much business between them as it was with everyone else.

"Good morning," Kaia finished a yawn, it was still the crack of dawn, "I wanted to talk to you. My girlfriend was feeling a bit insecure about this scene and I know we've talked about hand placement and all that, but would you mind if she sat in? She says it will make her feel better, whatever that means. I think it's because you're you."
