[Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift]

"I can't find my dress anywhere!" Katie groaned as she opened another closet door, "Tay! Where's my dress?!"

"In the closet!" The singer called from the downstairs floor rather calmly.

"Thanks, tips! Which closet? You have like forty thousand of them," Katie started down the steps. She was panicking because they were supposed to be leaving for Nashville in ten minutes and she had somehow forgotten to pack for the BRITS that they would be heading to right after Mother's Day with their families that May.

Her assistant had brought her dress over to Taylor's sometime that week and Taylor put it in 'a closet' to keep it safe from the cats, but now Katie couldn't find it anywhere.

"Babe, please. Please. I cannot find it, can you just put me out of my misery and tell me which?" Katie was begging. Taylor said she would help as soon as she answered that email, but it had been forever and she was starting to get anxious that they would miss their departure time.

"The one with the iron."

"I looked there!"

"Check the other one then, I have two irons."

"Please..." Katie approached her and gently removed the phone from Taylor's hands, her free hand resting on the older blonde's jaw tenderly, "Where is that closet, my love?"

"In the laundry room," Taylor smiled at the eye contact, she could just tell Katie was seething behind her fake gentleness.

"That's down here," Katie pursed her lips together, "What did I do to you to make you hate me? I've been looking for my dress for ten minutes, frantically running from wing to wing."

"Uh..." Taylor tried to think of a response, "You're making me go see your mother."

Katie didn't laugh at that, not at all, not like she'd expected. Her fingers loosened against Taylor's skin and she handed her phone back, turning to go find the dress once and for all.

Taylor's lips parted slightly as she realized what she had said. Katie was always on edge when she went back home, her family situation had never been the greatest. Even with her mother sober and spending a year living with them, she was worried that she'd see evidence that Margaret relapsed or that the issues they'd worked on regarding their relationship were clawing for the surface again.

And then she was also worried about bringing Taylor around her parents again, because they'd had such a nice time for the nearly six months they'd been together again and all it took was one nasty comment from her mother's lips to ruin her mood. Plus, seeing Taylor's parents was always terrifying.

Katie prized herself on keeping her temper under control, years of therapy had gotten her to that point, so she just stayed quiet until she felt like she could manage it.

"I didn't mean that!" Taylor called out, wondering where she should dig her grave.

It was still quiet after that.

Katie trudged down the stairs with her two bags while security carried Taylor's bags and the cat carriers out.

"Hey," Taylor said softly, "Can we talk for a minute?"

Katie looked at the guys carrying stuff to the car and nodded, following Taylor into the other room after handing off her luggage.

"I'm so sorry," Taylor told her, "That was more asshole-y of me than normal and I know you're stressed. I should've just helped and not said... that."
