Billie had almost forgotten she wasn’t actually with Yohan as she dragged her around the marketplace with Ella between them. She didn’t even bother to hide her jealousy anymore.
Ella had held both her mommies hands and happily skipped as they all walked together. Billie and Ella had made sure not to let Yohan wander off by herself again, knowing it would only cause trouble.
They kept putting themselves in between any woman that came within a few feet of Yohan. Billie made sure to be the one to talk every time they stopped to buy something at a stall that was being attended by anyone remotely close to their age, especially the women, unwilling to take the chance that they may be interested in Yohan and try to flirt with her.
Yohan had stopped at a vintage clothing shop for the umpteenth time that night and was currently looking through some of the jackets they had displayed. Yohan had been in the process of trying one on, asking the group how it looked when the Shop attendant tried to approach her.
The attendant was yet another pretty young girl and Billie didn’t like the way she was stalking towards Yohan. By the smile on the girl’s face, she knew she was on her way to compliment Yohan’s choice. Maybe even Yohan herself so Billie cut her off, stepping in front of her and blocking her path. She crossed her arms and glared.
“Don’t even think about it.”
Billie must have done a pretty good job at sporting her best bitchy face because the girl cowered and backed away.
Billie was glad no one else noticed her possessiveness, they’d been too busy commenting on the jacket Yohan was modeling for them.
Billie noticed how the attendant kept staring at Yohan longingly so Billie ripped the jacket out of Yohan’s hands once she took it off and proceeded to buy it for her. She smirked at the shop attendant the entire time as she handed over the cash, as if the gesture somehow claimed Yohan.
Yohan had been so startled when Billie had ripped it out of her hands that she didn’t even realize Billie had gone to buy the jacket for her until Billie marched back to them and presented the newly purchased jacket towards Yohan, smiling sweetly.
“Bil, you didn’t have to.” Yohan protested.
“Nonsense.” Billie said, hooking her arm around Yohan’s and possessively dragging her out of the store.
Yohan didn’t even notice how Billie had looked back inside the shop as Yohan let Billie pull her away.
My girl
Billie thought as she locked eyes with the shop attendant, a smug look plastered on her face.
Billie had almost managed to convince herself they were out on a date until they ran into Gray and Billie was brought back down to earth.
Of all the places and of all the people in LA, she just had to run into her soon to be ex-husband as she dreamily had spent the best night hanging out with her best friends, her daughter, and her ex fiancée who she still pined over. The universe really had a twisted sense of humor.
Billie almost ran the other way as soon as she spotted him but instead tried to shield herself behind Yohan, afraid if she moved too fast it would draw Gray ’s attention towards her.
