You'd think Drew hadn't just suffered a traumatic experience by the way she was bouncing in her seat on the way home. This time Yohan drove, Billie was in the passenger's side because Zoe refused to leave her wife's side. Ella was cuddled in between her aunties in the back seat.
Drew kept looking at Ella, caressing her cheek and then leaning in to kiss her wife. She was so excited to have her own Ella soon. She completely forgot about the pain in her cheek.

Zoe and Yohan didn't argue once for an entire week.
If that wasn't suspicious enough, Billie and Drew kept walking in on them talking to Lily on the phone. The would immediately stop talking and hang up on her when they got caught, making some excuse or another.
"They're up to something." Drew accused as they made dinner. Looking towards the game room where Yohan and Zoe were both once again locked up in there.
"I know." Billie sighed.
"We really should stop them."
"We really should." Billie agreed.
"They're so stubborn though."
"Ugh, I know."
"How bad do you think it is?" Drew worried.
"I don't know, I can't tell if it's serious enough for us to intervene or not. Yohan can't lie to me for the life of her and so far she's been able to avoid the subject pretty nonchalantly."
"Yeah, Zoe is the same way. Maybe we shouldn't worry too much then."
"I hope we don't have to. It's just so unusual. They literally haven't argued once."
————————-
Drew and Billie relaxed when they found the girls bickering a few days later.
"Huh, I guess we were worried for no reason," Billie said.
"I guess you're right." Drew said smiling at the familiar sight. Thinking everything went back to normal.
"It was probably just the scare of you being hurt that pacified them for a bit," Billie said as they watched them wrestle on the floor arguing about some criminal tv show they had been watching. Arguing about the defendants charges. Billie really didn't know, she was just glad they weren't being weird anymore.
————————-
They were proven wrong a few days after that.

Drew and Billie had both been at home. Drew was off that day and Billie had just picked Ella up from school. Ella was doing her homework in the living room and the tv was on to some grown up channel her auntie had accidentally left it on before going with her mommy to fix lunch.
Ella decided she'd done enough homework that she should be allowed to change the channel to watch cartoons for a bit.
Ella shouted from the living room as soon as she looked at the screen.
"Mommy!" Ella shouted frantically.
Billie rushed in to the room in a panic.
"What's wrong baby? Are you hurt?" Billie said, inspecting her.
"I'm okay mommy, look, it's the ugly man that punched mama!" Ella said, pointing to the tv.
Billie's eyes widened as she saw the Chris's mug shot being displayed as the reporter talked. She rushed for the remote.
