Yohan got a letter in the mail the next day from Harvard that was addressed to Billie. She looked at it confused, wondering why she had received it.
She called Billie immediately.
"Hey, can you come over to the studio?"
"Sure, what's up Yohan?" Billie tried not to sound too excited at the prospect of seeing Yohan again.
"There's a letter here for you but I have some clients right now so I can't take it to you right away and I think it might be important."
"Oh, okay. I'll be there in a bit." Billie tried to finish nonchalantly.
Billie scrambled to get ready, she'd been in sweats, hair in a bun, working on her laptop. She got ready in record time.
Billie showed up just as Yohan was finishing up with her current session. Billie tried to contain her jealousy at the fact that Yohan was telling the girls in front of her that they had been naturals. Gushing about how good they looked.
"You guys look gorgeous, I think we should use this one for the cover. It's giving like a sexy femme fatale concept." Yohan said, grinning at them.
The girls just giggled excitedly.
Billie narrowed her eyes at the scene. Yohan and her stupid models. Billie almost hated the fact Yohan was so good at her job that she kept booking prestigious clients like magazines that wanted her to curate their photos. It meant Yohan got to work with models. Really pretty, tall, skinny models that sported bedroom eyes as Yohan took their photos.
Billie should have known it wouldn't take long for Yohan to get this successful again. Billie really hated models ever since Yohan took up photography.
She stopped holding herself back when one of the girls grasped Yohan's arm as Yohan showed them one of the pictures she took from her camera. Nope, too close.
"Yohan" she said a little too sharply, attempting to get her attention.
Yohan looked from where she was standing, smiling as soon as she saw Billie.
"Excuse me guys. I'll send you and the magazine the sample prints as soon as I edit them. You're free to go." She told the girls before running towards Billie.
"Hey! You got here pretty quick." Yohan said.
"Well I don't live very far," Billie said dryly.
"I guess you're right," Yohan said smiling, oblivious to the fact that Billie was doing her best not to be angry at Yohan for being such an accidental flirt.
"Come on, I left the letter in my office," Yohan said, taking Billie's hand.
Billie gripped Yohan's hand hard, looking back at the girls Yohan had been taking photos of. Fully intending to find the girl who had held on to Yohan's arm. She met the stupid model's eyes and smirked. She swung Yohan's arm a little so the girl would notice how Yohan was holding her hand then looked away with a flick of her hair once she was satisfied that the girl got the message. Hands off.
My Yohan.
Yohan of course was oblivious to it all.
——————-
Yohan handed Billie the letter, "I'm not sure why I got this."
Billie looked at it.
"Oh." She hadn't expected a response from Harvard so soon.
If Billie was being truthful, she would have told Yohan she had sent the application in like Yohan had asked and addressed it to come back to Yohan so they could open it together. Just like they had when she was in high school.
