It took Jean and Diluc a while to get back to Mondstadt, but they eventually made it out, and escaped Dottore's claws. To say that they were exhausted, was an understatement. In all honesty, Diluc was a bit irritated at Jean still, for making such reckless decisions, but he had to forgive her at one point, not to mention that she apologised for the break up.

They were greeted at the gates of Mondtstadt by Kaeya, who seemed to be waiting for the two. He waved at them both as they got off of the horse. "Glad to see you both back in one piece." He chuckled, and it seemed like it was half true. Diluc had a scar over his cheek, while Jean was a bit rusty with her feet, but mostly just tired. "Uhuh, glad to see you too." Diluc said sarcastically, but everyone knew that he was pretty glad that his and Kaeya's relationship was growing again, especially after the fight they had. He was just happy they were brothers again. "I and the knights have taken care of your work, Jean, so you don't have to worry about that. Just take a few days off, and then you can start up again." Kaeya explained, and it seemed like Jean was gonna protest, but before she could, Kaeya had moved on. "Also, Diluc, I also gave a heads up to the people at Angel's Share, so they wouldn't ask where you were, I just told them you were going on a small business trip. No need to thank me." He chuckled, but when he opened his eyes, Diluc was smiling, brightly. He hadn't smiled this much in a long time. The only thing he could do now was to hug the two of them, and be the trio they were when they were kids. He just hoped this was the end of it all.

Wrong. They had sorted some stuff out with the Fatui, and knowing them, they were probably after Diluc, Jean, and maybe the whole of Mondstadt. But for now, that was the least of Diluc's worries, as being the Darknight Hero was also a job he had forgotten he had. Countless of letters were on his desk when he returned to Dawn Winery, and it seemed like they were completely untouched too, but he could tell they were from the Abyss Order. He spent all night reading them all, so he didn't get any sleep at all. Now he had gone a couple of days without sleep, and it was getting to him, but he wouldn't let that stop him. One letter stood out though, and if he remembered correctly, it said:

Dear Darknight Hero.

We from the Abyss Order have no intentions in negotiating with you, or the Knights Of Favonius, but we have decided to be generous with you, and give you a small heads up for what's about to come. The city you know will end up the way it was destined to be, and it shall be casted in flames by the Prince himself.

Be ready.

Be ready. Those were some weird words, that's what Diluc thought at least, but why would they send a letter like that? "The city you know will end up the way it was destined to be"? And who was this "Prince"? Diluc was aware of him, but had never seen or heard descriptions of him. With the Traveler heading home to Mondtsadt, he had to figure it out for himself until she arrived, but for now, he had to see if Jean and Kaeya would help him out with trying to figure out what the letter truly meant.
