It's been two weeks since the incident now, and Diluc only woke up a couple of days ago. It had been difficult for him to get stable again, especially after the stab, but he had worked on it. Unfortunately, he had distanced himself from his friends, and Jean especially. He didn't know why, but he just couldn't take being around anyone at this point. It had all gotten a toll on him, and he couldn't let it affect his loved ones. He sat by his desk and wrote countless of letters, random books, or just read what Jean had suggested to him months ago. He didn't feel happy, but not sad either. It was in between he assumed.
He was laying in bed now, just glaring at the ceiling. He didn't want to get up, but he had gotten reports about people wondering where the Darknight Hero was, and how he was doing. Was he even around? Diluc decided that today was the day he finally got his life together once again. Some would see it as bad, some would question his actions, and some would fear it. He was raging, if he was honest, not from the Abyss herald, but the Fatui. Dottore had gotten to his weak point earlier, but he was done being his little puppet to toy with. He was gonna hunt him down. He got on his red outfit, and sat down by his desk, writing a letter to everyone that needed to know. Jean's one was the most important to him though. It read:
Dear Beloved, Jean.
I'm terribly sorry for pushing you away, and I promise we will be together soon again. I love you with all of me, but I have business to take care of in Snezhnaya. Please do not come searching for me, and do not send the knights to find me. I'll be doing well, and I wish that you take care of yourself. You will always be my Dandelion.
Sincerely, Diluc.
It looked good enough, so he asked his maids to send it off. Diluc had his own horse, so he got onto it, and began his journey once again. The journey would take weeks, months, maybe even years like last time, but his goal was to kill Dottore, and flee. After all, he was banned from the region, but he didn't care. The last time he was there, he barely fled the claws of the harbingers. This was a journey of life and death, and if his life was taken, then that was his time, and he could finally see his father again. Poor Kaeya, his loved ones always left him, but Diluc promised to come back for him and Jean. He had to. When he was close to the boarder though, he noticed two familiar figures. Dang it, they didn't listen to his letter. "Diluc, what are you doing?!" Kaeya shouted at him, as both him and Jean rushed over to his horse, holding it still. "I'm getting revenge, I won't be gone for long." Diluc calmly said. "You said that last time, and you came back after 4 years.." Jean mumbled, but Diluc just sighed. "At that time I didn't have a specific goal, now I do." Diluc tried to explain. "What is it?" Kaeya asked curiously. "I want to murder Dottore." The two of them looked shocked, but they just sighed. "Okay, I know you'd prefer to do it alone, but at least let us help you." Jean begged, and it seemed like Diluc just couldn't resist her. "Fine-" "Wait, I cant go, someone has to watch over Mondstadt. You two go, I'll cover for you once again." Kaeya said, having a mischievous look on his face. "Okay, Jean, I'll help you get on, and then we'll begin searching. Do you have equipment?" Diluc asked, helping Jean sit behind him on the horse. Jean wrapped her arms around him. "I do, I have my clothes, my sword, and my vision. That's all I need." Jean smiled, resting her head on his shoulder. "Alright, we'll see you as soon as we can, Kaeya. Thank you again." Diluc said, smiling, before the two lovebirds rode back to the land of cryo.
