Hubris: Volume 2

Chapter 27: The Big City!

The scene starts with Zeldris and his adoptive mother having a slight argument in the kitchen. Zeldris tucked his hands into his pockets and his mother placed her hands on her hips as she leaned over to talk to him.

???: "There's no way my son will go to New York on his own! What if something happens to you?!"

Zeldris: "You're overreacting, it's not like I'm going out there on my own. Cosmo is coming with me."

???: "EH?! Do you really think a little cat will protect you?? Don't be ridiculous Zeldris! I'm not letting you go until you find someone to take with you. Someone that doesn't have fur or scales..or a tail."

Zeldris: "Fine, fine. If you're going to be so obnoxious about it. I'll see if I can get someone."

Zeldris tucked his hands into his pockets as he stepped out. He couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed that there was a little roadblock keeping him from achieving his dream. Zeldris grabbed his phone from his black hoodie pocket before scrolling down on the contacts. He had flashbacks of what everybody's plan was, the three boys were planning on travelling out so they were busy over summer..Phoebe wouldn't be free for the first two weeks..so that just left...

Zeldris sighed before dialling a number.

The scene changed and Zeldris was outside as the sun started to come up. Time went forward skipping a few days as the person he called prepared themself to meet up with him. Zeldris's adoptive mother had a worried expression on her face as she was waiting at the car with him.

???: "Did you pack your sunscreen, clothes, phone, and a extra set of clothes..maybe you should quadruple check if you have anything!"

Zeldris: "You're worrying too much, I'll be fine. I'll be gone for a while so I made sure I packed everything."

???: "This isn't good for my poor heart! My poor baby will be out of the country without his guardian..what'll you do for dinner?! Make sure to eat healthy!"

Zeldris: "Yeah I know, I'm going to be alright. Will you be alright without me for a few weeks?"

???: "It'll be lonely without you..but I'll be okay! I'll probably talk with Takeo's mother and have her over for tea, since she'll be without her son as well."

Zeldris: "Good, just make sure you don't turn into a crazy cat lady while I'm away."

His adoptive mother raised her hand to pinch his cheek softly. Zeldris had a blunt expression as she softly pinched his cheek.

???: "Cheeky!"

The sound of heels hitting the ground began to creep up on the two. His adoptive mother let go of his cheek before placing both her hands together to lower them over her lap. Zeldris tucked his hands into his pockets as he looked at Tabitha walk up to them. She was wearing a small black dress with a corset, she had lacy tights with a love heart garter belts around her thighs, around her waist she had a studded belt wrapped around for design, to finish off the whole look she wore a black blouse and a studded choker with a skull on the front of it. She bowed her head to Zeldris's adoptive mother before walking over to Zeldris and whispering.

Tabitha: "We should probably get going quickly, don't ask questions."

Zeldris was confused but he nodded. Zeldris opened the boot of the car before helping Tabitha put her stuff in. He then opened the door for himself before climbing in. As the two got in, Zeldris's mother started to drive toward the airport. A few hours later..they had arrived, Zeldris got out before opening the boot of the car to take out the luggage. Zeldris placed his down before giving Tabitha her luggage. Zeldris's Adoptive mother rushed over to give him a big hug.
