Chapter 36: A Method In Madness

The scene starts with Zeldris balling his fists, he looked up at the group before turning around. He couldn't help but feel annoyed he couldn't do anything for Avada..the man would slaughter all of them if they had tried to attack once again. Zeldris took a deep breath before turning around.

Phoebe: "But Zelly..do you not want to get answers?"

Zeldris: "Yes I do, but we won't get them this way. I saw a dangerous future..we need to go back to the hotel room, I'll explain everything there."

Tabitha: "Okay, Zeldris."

The four turned around before running out, making sure to stick together this time so they wouldn't be split. The scene changed and all four of them were at the hotel room, Zeldris looked around to see if Sophia was around..but she was no where to be seen. Zeldris grabbed his phone before dialling the number..a dial tone went off lowly before a click was heard on the other end.

???: "Hello?"

Zeldris: "Who's this..where's Sophia?"

???: "You must be a familiar of her right?..Ms Sophia is currently resting, she was badly hurt in an accident."

A voice was heard in the background.

Sophia: "Give me the phone! King of the school, is that you?!"

Zeldris: "Yeah, what the hell happened?"

Sophia: "The stalker you took out..he must've been a cousin or something. So many of them came and raided the hotel..Ada had to go in exchange that I got to live. Those guys mean business..but I won't let them take my friend away."

Sniffles were heard over the phone..Sophia was close to a breakdown. Zeldris scoffed before saying.

Zeldris: "Do you think she wants to hear you cry? Don't you dare shed a damn tear. She wanted to protect you because she values you, do not disrespect her sacrifice. I'll handle this, just get better."

Zeldris then hung up. He looked up at the group but they all had disappointed faces.

Zeldris: "What?..."

Tabitha: "You could've been a bit nicer Zeldris.."

Phoebe: "Yeah, Zelly you're a bully!"

Cosmo: "Master..why did you have to be so mean?"

Zeldris: "Tch. Whatever, I'm not here to be freaking Robin Hood. I'm here to get my answers. Now we have to come up with a strategy. No, all of us fighting him at once won't work, he's too strong."

Tabitha: "How do you know?..who are we even fighting?"

Zeldris: "A mad scientist named Venator Chrolly, he's the one that created the androids."

All 3: "Eh?!"

Zeldris: "He's nothing to scoff at. He's using Ada as a power source to power up his twisted machine. We need to put our heads together or we won't be able to save her. If you was a mad scientist and wanted to control a lot of people, where would you start?"

Tabitha: "Well..I'd start with a special event, like a carnival. Since there's a lot of people with their guards lowered, it would be the perfect time to strike."

Zeldris: "Good. Anyone else?"

Phoebe: "Oh! Oh! I'd start at a parade, with everyone drinking and celebrating..I'd use a giant machine and control everyone at once!"

Zel/Tabi: "Wow..that was surprisingly smart."

Phoebe: "Hey!"

Cosmo: "There'd have to be lots of yummy food!..that way people would be too stuffed to fight back."

Zeldris: "All valid answers. But what time?"

Tabitha: "Night, people will be intoxicated."

Zeldris: "Good point."

Phoebe: "Wait a minute, I just remembered something! My mum will be doing a fashion float for the parade, I need to help her!"

Zeldris: "Wait, a parade?! Where??"

Phoebe: "Oh! In Times Square."

Zel/Tabi: "That's it!"

Phoebe: "What's it?...OH!!"

Zeldris: "Quick, switch on the news."

Tabitha grabbed the remote before switching on the Television. A man was sitting at the desk talking about how everyone was prepared and excited for the parade tomorrow evening. Zeldris looked at the group before cracking his knuckles.

Zeldris: "I'm coming for you Ada. Venator, I'll get my answers from you..dead or alive."

The four huddled together..the planning process was underway. The scene changed and it was daytime, the four went to visit Sophia.

Sophia was in a hospital bed asleep, but she woke up to the sound of the large wooden doors being pushed open. She looked over at the group..her face was weak, she had bandages plastered all over it. Her eyes were tear stained..

Zeldris tucked his hands into his pockets before saying.

Zeldris: "How are you holding up?"

Sophia: "Could be better.."

Tabitha: "I'm sorry I wasn't there..if I was there I cou-"

Sophia: "It's not your fault, there's no point pondering on what ifs or maybe's..my best friend was taken away from me, it won't bring her back."

Zeldris looked down before looking at the three.

Zeldris: "We'll make the bastard pay for this."

Sophia: "What good would revenge do king of the school? I don't even know if my best friend is alive!"

Phoebe: "She has to be alive!..there's no way that he w-"

Zeldris: "She's alive. She's too valuable to be killed off like that. We just came here to tell you we're going to get her back."

Zeldris turned around before making his way out..before he could he felt a soft hand grab his arm.

Sophia: "Promise me...promise me you'll bring her back, king of the school."

Zeldris let out a huff, he looked at the group before saying lowly.

Zeldris: "I have to anyways, I need answers from that man. He owes me and I'll do anything to get my answers."

Tears rolled down Sophia's cheek, she then fell back before burying herself in her sheets. The group fell silent before following behind Zeldris as he made his way out. The scene changed and it was night, the time of the grand parade!

Camilla: "Phoebe darling! Are you ready to promote our business?"

Phoebe: "Yeah! We've got the best parade float ever!"

Camilla: "Of course we do! Hopefully this'll promote my new cosmetic line and your mother won't just be the model for other companies."

The woman said proudly before stepping onto the float. The city was lit up with bright neon lights, the streets were lit up with bright lights from the crowd. Confetti flew high and made it a bright joyous occasion. As each float went by, loud cheers were heard from the crowd. Their voices booming as they roared, thrilled with the event. News anchors were everywhere, desperate for the delectable scoop of news that could be present.

News reporter: "My folks! With all the screams that can be heard you could say we could be heard even in space! You haven't lived life if you haven't been to a New York parade at time square!"

A low cackle was heard in the distance as a science float began to get closer to the centre.

Venator: "You haven't lived life..if you haven't felt the energy of my latest invention..isn't that right..popstar?"

The scene focused on a weakened Ada, she looked up at the man with a blank expression as she passed out.
