Hubris: Volume 2

Chapter 30: Stakeout!

The scene starts with the group getting out the taxi, Zeldris told them to wait inside the hotel just in case it might get to dangerous. They all nodded before walking away to meet up with Sophia and Avada. Zeldris camouflaged himself in the bushes waiting to see who turns up. Many people walked by in the dim night..but nothing out of the ordinary yet. Zeldris waited patiently, he slowed his heart beat to increase his focus..watching every step. Suddenly a man walked past, he was wearing a dark suit and black shades.

Zeldris: "Who the hell wears shades at night?.."

Zeldris mumbled as he looked at him. Zeldris was correct in his judgement, the man knew exactly where to look to find Avada and Sophia's apartment. Zeldris got out from the bush, he made his way over to him sneakily. As he got closer he moved in time with the cars that went by to drown out the sound. Zeldris blinked his eyes, just as he did so..he started to panic. The man was gone, no where to be seen..how was he gone so suddenly? Zeldris looked around, he couldn't see any trace of him..any indication.

That was until the man was behind him in a flash. Zeldris felt a chill run through his body, he looked behind him before saying.

Zeldris: "What?.."

The man had a slight grin before he rammed a rather large knife through his chest which pierced Zeldris's heart. His heart was on the tip on the blade still beating strong..until it stopped. The light began to fade from his eyes..blood began to spill on the floor as his body was slumped. The man shook the blade to get the blood off swiftly before he walked away.

???: "Do not interfere with my mission."

The scene changed and Zeldris woke up in the pizza parlour. He gasped before looking down at the slice of pizza he had in his hand.

Cosmo: "Master?..."

Zeldris looked over at Cosmo before sighing and waving his hand to symbolise he was okay. He then looked at the two girls.

Zeldris: 'It's been a while...since I've woken up like that.' He thought.

Tabitha: "Zeldris, are you okay?"

Zeldris: "I'm fine."

Phoebe: "Zelly! Your phone is going off."

Zeldris looked down at it, it was vibrating quite loud. He picked it up before talking to Avada once again. Zeldris got up before nodding at everyone.

Zeldris: "Let's go."

All three: "Right!"

The scene changed and Zeldris told them to wait up in the hotel, all except Cosmo. Cosmo turned into his cat form before following behind Zeldris and waiting in the bush once again. A few hours went by again..and the man appeared, Zeldris instructed Cosmo to keep an eye on him, Cosmo purred lightly before keeping his cat eyes on the man. Zeldris crept up, as he got closer and closer he needed to blink once again. He blinked but the man didn't disappear, he stayed where he was, Zeldris swiftly tackled him but the man didn't make a single sound, he was breathing deep.

Zeldris: "Alright you sicko, I want some answers."

???: "I don't have to justify my actions to a kid."

Zeldris grabbed his shirt collars before pulling him up closer to his face. He then raised one of his fists.

Zeldris: "Well you better start talking."

The man raised his hand in the air before mumbling.

???: "Black haze."

Suddenly a black mist enshrouded them, Cosmo couldn't see him..Zeldris couldn't see him either. He suddenly disappeared out of sight, Zeldris cracked his knuckles before mumbling.
