CHAPTER NINETEEN . . .
. . . RAINY DAY !

Satoru huffed, his blue gaze shifting toward the gloomy sky, it was definitely going to rain. Today, the group was meeting to hang out once again, going out to Tokyo like they always did every weekend. Miran said she couldn't make it today and it disappointed him, a little.

Currently, Satoru was heading over to Suguru who was waiting for him so they could meet up with the rest of them.

Humming a familiar tune, he pulled out his flip phone and scrolled around, stopping right in front of the street, waiting for the light to go green. He could see himself being watched but paid no mind to it, after all, it was normal for him.

He looked ahead, feeling a familiar energy residing in the corner of his eyes, it was Miran. She was across the street from where he was. He arched his brow in confusion, "Did she ditch us?"

He spam messaged her all morning and she replied with a simple sentence, that she was busy. Yet here she was, her curse essence so strong right in front of him. A droplet fell on his glasses, and it started raining.

The lights flickered green.

Satoru strolled to where his lingering curiosity found itself, taking off his glasses for a split moment to wipe them, the Kamo girl whose curse energy was very close grew. Following the essence, it led him to an apartment alleyway,

Miran is right in front of him. She wore a brown trench coat and knelt before him in the other direction.

"Yo!! Miran-Chan!"

She seemed to be in deep thought because, in normal circumstances, she would have acknowledged him by now, "Did something happen?"

With deep conversations, Satoru doesn't excel in that criterion, Suguru is better at that. He could tell something happened, but he doesn't know how to approach it. So instead, he ignores it.

Walking up to her, he noticed the creature in her focus, a cat. It had a white coat and seemed abandoned, living in a cardboard box, Miran was feeding him cat food. She watched it silently as it ate vigorously, as if it hadn't eaten in days.

She sighed, dazed in her thoughts, rain began to pour harsher, getting her dark hair wet, it didn't seem like she cared though.

Satoru remembers something Suguru said to him, about Miran. She is one of a kind, a girl who works herself half to death for the better of others. She was selfish and sacrificial, for the sake of those around her.

Even if Suguru knew her better than he ever could, he agrees to that. She always seemed to run off to handle something on her own. Every time she would either leave the group early or not even come along, Satoru would complain.

Everyone, even the 1st-years knew she was hiding something. But Suguru and Shoko would protect her all the time, saying she'll come to us when she's ready.
