CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN . . .
. . . FINAL WORDS !

Satoru began to regain consciousness when Miran healed the damage on his brain, his cerulean staring straight into her green eyes... emerald. They were closer to emerald than green or olive, like two bright gems that centered his vision.

They were vastly different from that man... Toji. He remembers now... that winter afternoon, the first time he met eyes with Miran. Her emerald eyes were different than that man with her, they held life and possibility, security and innocence.

Seeing her again after all those years, her eyes were still the same, just covered by whatever she'd been through...

Last night, that was the first time she had her walls down, laughing and smiling at him. It made him happy, there was a flutter on his chest when he first heard those sounds, when she said his name.

Everything made sense...

... what happened?

He could tell she was losing strength sitting upright.

A part of him wanted to stop her, yet he couldn't move a muscle, just staring at her from below, observing every feature on her face, bloody or not. It wasn't until she collapsed next to him, that he started to feel everything...

everything

His cerulean eyes widened, Satoru moved his body to the side and pulled his hand to touch her cheek, not being able to speak since his neck was healing.

It's healing...

He's finally reached the height of his capabilities, reverse curse energy. His eyes never stopped looking away from her unconscious figure beside him.

Miran.

she poured her own reverse curse energy into his body, giving him enough time to perfect it, giving him enough energy to figure it out.

He gets it.

Shoko mumbling of incoherent words and Miran stares into the void, the way she stared into puddles of water around them, as if she was trying to find the right words to explain it to him.

He makes sense now, the bliss of the world around him, he could feel everything, see everything.

In return, his curse energy began to unconsciously make its way through her system...

Even before his body was finished healing, Satoru pulled himself up from the puddle of blood underneath him. He noticed something next to Miran, her book. The same book she showed him last night, she had it on her this entire time, it must have fell from her pocket earlier.

Satoru picked up the small leather book, putting it in his pant pocket as he picked up Miran bridal style. He could tell she was alive, her curse energy was still strong, and he could feel her heart beating steady.

Satoru held Miran close to him, hiding her vulnerable state from the world as he disappeared in the air...

Yet there was something both of them were too blind to see.

When their blood connected, the six-eyed user discovered reverse curse energy, there was a shift in the world.

A shift in the universe, not once, twice.

There was something different, it wasn't just Gojo Satoru that day, it was as if the universe revealed something that was kept hidden in a deep dark corner.
