CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN . . .
. . . The Cold Truth !"Sorry, it took me a while Oneesan."
A bouquet of Pansies was set in the middle of the grave. After finishing cleaning the growing grime, Miran finally sat down, clasping her hands together. For a moment she prayed before settling them back down, staring at her grave with a gentle smile, "I brought you your favorite cake, I thought you'd be hungry since I haven't been here in a while."
She stared quietly at the engraving, how it was carved. The twists and truths all spell out her angel:
Fushiguro Emi
Loving Daughter
Wife
Mother
"I was gone for reasons you probably know. You must have beaten him to a pulp by now..." Miran laughs at the thought, shaking her head, "No, you both loved each other, so I think you're still together, somehow."
"They know about Megumi and Tsumiki. At first, I really wanted it quiet," she kept going in the one-sided conversation, the cherry blossoms trees blowing from the wind. It was almost time for them to open, for their beauty to once again be seen.
"I'll bring them by soon, Tsu has a collection she'd like to show you and Megumi wants to bring you something," the kids expressed enthusiastically about coming, but they had school and Miran wanted to be alone.
She didn't tell them the second part.
Sighing, her shoulders relaxed, eyes dropped as her gaze followed up to the baby blue sky, "You remember Gojo Satoru, right? The boy from my high school, he's been watching them while I was gone," she smiled, "I'm grateful for him, he can be childish at times, but he always seems to make it up with a golden heart.
Her hands still clasped, they tighten together, "For a while I guess I never really bothered to get closer to him or... Suguru. Maybe it was because I was afraid of them finding or, no- it was because I refused it. But I did try to watch over them, all of them really."
Miran peered back to the grave, "Like you. I will be you, no matter how hard it is."
It is the only thing I know.
"I know you're always going to be worried, no matter how much I try to reassure you."
Miran stays quiet, her voice fading and n the sentence, until it was just quiet. The wind gently blew the wisp of her charcoal from her hair.
"I know you're there."
Coming from behind, a raspy chuckle erupted the mood, her shoulders straightened, "I was hoping to surprise you." The Kamo head came from behind her, wearing traditional clothing, a marble bronze cane in his grasp.
Miran's eye twitched, and she remains sitting neatly in front of her sister's grave. Her jaw locked, composure ticking while the Kamo head speaks, "You've been avoiding my messages for your immediate attention. Care to explain why-"
"I threw them out," she turned, emotionless, "Simple as that." He hummed as she continues, "I guess you have surprised me though, I never thought you'd be the type of man who'd disturb a meeting with my dead sister."
Miran gets up, patting her knees softly, turning to meet him, "I don't owe you or the Kamos anything. I am a Fushiguro, the only ties we have is the blood in my veins," she glares, "I'm done."
