CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE . . .
. . . STARS !Miran began to worry Suguru. Every day for weeks now she's asked to go to the patio, he'd helped her there and set her on the couch.
That's all she does now, staring up at nothing, where the stars and moon would be. She was quieter and reserved, smiling and speaking to the girls softly before going back to her room.
This wasn't like Miran.
This Miran was tired, so tired. She sleeps during the day and night, she'd stay in her bed under the covers for hours. Then there were the days she wouldn't sleep at all, staying up for who knows how long.
He watched her every day, how she would fiddle with her left index finger constantly, always that one. Sometimes she would even fall asleep in the patio, having him carry her back in before it got too cold.
She didn't seem to mind the cold though.
Her voice was different also, her usually gentle, softness became slower... tired, and sad.
It was as if she lost all her energy.
The twins have also noticed her decline and they offered to make her a gift, they would say she's sad...
Suguru knew it was more than that.
Without her knowledge, Suguru would watch her from afar as she stared up in silence. There was a sense of longing in her presence, a yearning that could never be resolved here.
Suguru knows what Miran yearned for, he knows why.
He knows what she's desperately clinging onto, he's known ever since he saved her. A part of him hoped she would forget about it, about them once she woke up. That's why he had the twins around her since the beginning, he wants her by his side...
Yes, it was selfish, especially the fact that he could remove those tails men from her vision easily, but then she'd know the truth. She'll see him for who he truly is, demand the truth, his sins against her...
What happened between him and Satoru.
He'll lose her, just as he's lost Satoru.
Although they have differences, in their hair, eyes, height, and personalities... they somehow are still the same in a few aspects. They have the same beliefs, the alignment of protecting the vulnerable.
They genuinely love those under them, even the monkeys.
For Satoru, everyone was under him, he had the duty to protect them... the strongest. It was something a part of Suguru envied, how Satoru could do anything he put his mind to. He is better than everyone in every way...
Then there is Miran, a woman who held a sympathetic soul. She cares for two children, one of them being a non-sorcerer, she doesn't care either way. She's never cared, after all her only duty is protecting those around her. She's said it herself to him one spring evening.
It was the reason for her joining Jujutsu High in the first place, to protect them.
Suguru glared where she was staring off to, his violet eyes glinting. What was enamoring her? All he knows is that she sees total darkness...
What comfort is there to look up at darkness?

Satoru was too quiet, something he hadn't done in a little while, especially when he was around the Fushiguro siblings. It wasn't just quietness, he was tired too. Ever since he took the Fushiguros under his wing, he eventually took over their schedules.
