CHAPTER SEVEN . . .
. . . DISTANT RELATIVE !It was the mid of December and winter was on the brink. Snow filled the streets, and the weather was nothing but cold. Miran wore winter clothing and a red beanie on her head. She was with Toji once again, personally asking him to go somewhere only he knew.
"Where did you wanna go kid?" Toji asked. He wished to stay under a roof when the snow came around, but Miran wanted to go somewhere. He couldn't say no.
He wouldn't express it, but he felt guilty of her state. All for his true desire, to find his way out of the Zen'in clan. She was the ticket, and he needed to sink these feelings inside and keep going.
Soon, it'll all be worth it.
Miran nuzzled her head into her scarf, covering her lower face from the snow. Her eyes looked forward with determination, "To where that man said, the Kamo place."
Toji stopped walking, causing Miran to look up at him in question. He crouches eye level with her, "I thought you wouldn't want to go back."
Miran looked down, not meeting his eyes, "I want to." It was the only way she could get answers. She knew her visions, her dreams weren't made up in her head. They were too specific and always went in a loop.
Inside, she knew it had to do with who she met that day, the Kamos. It was as if they triggered something inside her, they would know the answer.
Toji sighed and rubbed his temples, "Alright kid, I'll take you if it makes you feel better. C'mon." He offered her hand in which she took, and they traveled to the estate.
Miran knew she could ask Toji about it, but she knew she'd probably not get a true answer. And she doesn't want to hang on him all the time, she doesn't want to be seen as a burden.
As they continued to the estate, Toji glanced down, "You going to tell me why you want to see them."
"I have some questions."
He sighed loudly, she never changed. "Of course, you do. Look ahead, we're almost there."
Miran gazed at the estate, it was as large as the previous ones. She wondered if it'll feel the same as the others, the pain, and negative emotions that enveloped it.
"Miran," Toji said and continued, "They most likely won't let me in the same room as you two, call out for me and I will come, I swear." He wanted to reassure her to the best he can.
He failed that day at the Gojo estate, resulting in scars on both her physical and mental soul. He can't let it happen again.
Miran smiled at him, "Got it." It was fake but still a little genuine, she was happy that Toji cared for her. But she wasn't so sure about protection, beyond this estate isn't a territory he can control.
