Sonoma groaned as she slung her school school over her shoulder.

Rowen, her crow familiar, was perched on one of her bed posts, cooing softly.

She patted him on the head and headed out the door.

She catches her adoptive mother, Andromeda Deyanira, on the way out the door. She hands her lunch, and reminds her that lessons are only until twelve today, as everyone needs to prepare for the third full moon of the year in four days time.

To Sonoma, she felt like atleast two of those days were a little too much preparation, but she was pleased that she would have less time reciting the dumb affirmatives that Mrs. Quartz made them do.

She arrived at the carriage just in time, and was on the bumpy road to the forest clearing the lessons took place in.

Rowen flew overhead, trying to see if he could spot the class from there.

Sonoma opened her grimoire, and sighed as she flicked through the pages.

There were spells for kitchen witches, spells for garden witches, love witches, Sea witches, divination witches and all other types of witches. Except Moonwitches and dark witches.

She wasn't drawn to any except really the divination and the hedge witches. The divination witches main crystal was Angelite, while the hedge witches didn't have any, as they where more focused with their magical gardening.

Suddenly, Rowen made a sound in the back of his throat that caught Sonomas attention. They'd arrived at the carriage drop off.

From here, friends would meet and walk down the small pathway to the clearing.

Which was exactly what Sonoma was here for.

She was pounced on by her best friend, Pandora darkline.

Pandora specialised in plant magic, which was what they had become friends over, as Sonoma had once complimented her on her way with the plants, and a conversation had sprouted from that one compliment.

'So~ Did you hear the news~' Pandora said, violet eyes shining with excitement.

'No, tell me?' Sonoma raised an eyebrow.

'The power trials are next week! Then they'll sort us in to our respective circle!' Pandora squealed.

Sonomas heart dropped.

She was useless in all except some minor divination, with only moon related rituals, seeing as the name of one effected all. Atleast that's what she'd been told.

She half hated her name for its meaning. But at the same time she adored its uniqueness.

'Oh..that's great! I bet you'll end up in the garden witches circle with Sage, Tisiphone and my mom' Sonoma smiled.

Pandora noticed her mood drop and gave her a hug.

'Hey, You'll be fine. I'll help you strengthen your magic by the trials. Then you can be in whatever circle you want'

Sonoma gave a more genuine smile at that, and hugged Pandora back.

Then suddenly, a bear roared. The students weren't startled, as it was simply Garnet, Mrs. Serapin's familiar calling them to the clearing to begin their lessons.

Sonoma and Pandora laughed in unison, and then they got to their feet.

'Race you there!' Pandora yelled, and began to sprint away.

'Hey!' Sonoma yelped in surprise, and raced of after her best friend.
