Chapter.10
_________________________________________I jumped up, gasping for air, the sun had set and the air became crisp and cold. My mouth felt horribly dry and my chest felt like it was being crushed by a truck.
It was pitch black outside yet I could see Felix and his friends chatting inside, none of them bothering to look my way. My legs were numb due to no circulation but I could still feel the pain of the gunshot wounds.
I have to get out of here, I have to survive.
I rolled over onto my stomach and looked at the dirt road path in front of me. I remembered how long it took us to get here, to this remote area. One thing I do know is that we're on a hill and I probably could make it down faster if I threw myself down it.
I'm willing to do anything at this point.
I began to crawl, the gravel scraping against my skin. I worried of wild animals, they could smell my blood and try eat me alive. I tried my best not to worry about it even though it was eating at me.
I hadnt felt unbearable yet, I'm guessing because of the adrenaline. I crawled down the hill, I didn't stop, I kept thinking about Reese and that kept me going.
I rolled down the steepest parts of the hill, making the trip a little faster. I cried but I kept fighting, I wasn't going to let the pain stop me from freedom.
I stopped to relax and breathe, I looked down at my legs and noticed that they had stopped bleeding a long time ago. I contemplated on whether or not I should take the belts off but then I remembered that I might scrape my legs up against something and cause them to bleed again.
So... I continued on my journey.
Thirty merciless minutes pass and I can finally see lights in the distance. I roll down the steep hill, trying to get there faster. I could hear cars driving by, it was like heaven to my ears.
I kept rolling, it hurt me less to roll and plus it was faster than crawling.
Fifteen minutes pass and I make it down to the road, i crawl closer and closer to the street, I stop right at the end of the dirt road, hoping that a car would see me and stop but they never did.
Five minutes pass and by the grace of God, I see two young woman laughing, walking down the street, they were looking at their phones not paying attention in front of them.
I couldn't understand what they were saying, all I could say was "Help" they looked up once they heard my voice.
"Oh!" One of them said.
They both ran over to me, one of them immediately called the police while the other stayed at my side, making sure I stayed conscious.
"You speak Korean?" She asked me.
I shook my head, it pounded, she noticed my discomfort "Here" she said before taking off her coat, she lifted my head and placed it under my head.
"We ca- we call... for help" She told me.
I grabbed her hand "Thank you" I said to her.
