Chapter.26
_________________________________________

It's been weeks...

I can't stop thinking about them.

I shouldn't feel this way. My life is great now without them. Yet I still crave his touch, the feeling of his lips against mine. Even though we never had sex, I still get these thoughts... bad thoughts. A part of me wonders what we could've been if I hadn't left.

Don't get me wrong, Chris was nice, too, but he was more gentle and caring. He's a make love kind of guy.

But Felix...

He's so much more different.

I can't stop thinking about him, I can't go back. I can't risk me or Reese's life again. But the feeling between my legs speaks louder than the logic.

"Elodie"

I turn to Rose, and she looks concerned as she holds her glass of wine. "Are you alright?" She asked me before taking the seat across from me. "You're red," She said. She pressed her cold hand against my forehead. "You're burning up," she said.

"I'm fine," I reassured her.

She sighed and looked me up and down. "I came to tell you that you have a shoot with Allure tomorrow," She said.

"What?" I asked, I practically jumped out of my seat. I forgot to mention that Nick got me into modeling. He thought I was a perfect fit for his designs. Now I'm getting calls from all these major companies.

"Yeah, aren't you excited?" She asked me. I smiled and nodded, "Great!" She grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "I'm so proud of sissy." She told me.

"Thank you,"

"Go on inside, honey. I have an errand to run, " I told him. He squinted at me. "What are you up to, Mom?" He asked me. I mirrored his expression. "I love you. Go inside," I told him.

"Don't do anything stupid!" he said before getting out of the car. I turned up the radio after he closed the door.

Escapism

I huffed and put the car in reverse. Here I go, I guess. Doing exactly what Reese wouldn't want me to do. I waved at the security guards on my way out. The sun was close to setting, I was ready but scared at the same time.

I pushed the emotions behind me.

I can always turn around.

But I didn't, I kept driving, speeding through traffic. I didn't realize it. My heart raced quicker with every passing second. The sky turned purple as the sun hid behind the ocean.

I parked outside of the dented gates. It looked like someone had driven through them. I turned the car off and got out, I made sure not to slam the door. I crept through the gates to see multiple unknown cars parked in the driveway. The door to the house was wide open, and some of the windows were shattered.

Maybe this isn't a good time.

I approached one of the unknown vehicles, and I noticed a pistol lying on the ground. I reached for it, but before I could grab it, I noticed a few people making their way outside. I hid behind the car and waited for them to move out of view.

"You think they'll give up?" One of them asked.

"I sure hope so," the other one replied, I heard him light a cigarette.

"I'm gonna go take a wizz," I heard one of them say.

"Go ahead."

I peeked around the car to see the man with the cigarette. He had his back to me, I hid behind the car again and took a deep breath. "You can do this." I told myself. I peeked at the man again before finally lunging at him.

I knocked him to the ground, and he fell on his hands and knees. I clenched my jaw and twisted his neck as hard as I could. He went limp underneath me, and I snatched the gun out of his back pocket.

"Chase?" I heard the other one call.

I ran behind the vehicle, and I waited for the man to find the dead body. "Oh god," I heard him say, "That's when I lunged at him. I took him out like I took his buddy out.

After getting rid of them, I made my way inside. That's when I heard their cries of pain. They were coming from the living room. I pressed my back against the wall, making sure nobody could see me.

A man walked past me, I grabbed him and pulled the knife out of his belt. I jammed it into his neck before he could make a peep. There was a man for every person held captive, beating them senseless.

"Where is she?!"

Felix spit at the man's feet, and the man kicked Felix in the face, causing him to hit the floor again.

I grabbed the grenade from the dead man's belt. "Please, god." I threw the grenade in the kitchen to create a diversion. I covered my ears and shielded my face from the flying debris.

"What the fuck!" I heard one of them say.

I looked up at the dangling chandelier, I could hear them running to the foyer where I was hiding. I aimed at the chandelier and shot it, right as they ran underneath it.

It fell in slow motion, crushing three men as it hit the ground. The other four were injured and bleeding out. One of the men on the floor noticed me, they were practically drowning in their own blood. They grabbed their gun but I shit them before they could shoot me.

I dropped the pistol and grabbed the AK off the floor. "Come out!" I heard one of the men yell from the living room. I took another deep breath and peeked around the corner and started shooting the men down. I shot and killed five before getting shot in the arm. I hid behind the wall again, I couldn't feel the pain from the gunshot yet.

My adrenaline was kicking in.

Ten more to go.

I peeked around the wall again and shot seven down, I dodged a bullet heading straight for my head. "Fuck it" I said before stepping into the livingroom. I watched in satisfaction as the other three men hit the floor.

I dropped the gun and grabbed one of the knives lying on the floor. Everyone was either in shock or too beaten to speak. I cut Jungkook loose, and then Minho and then Changbin, I was about to cut Felix loose, but I stopped.

"Somethings wrong" I said, I looked down and lifted up my hoodie, exposing the gunshot wound. Their eyes widened, I shook my head and tried to rid myself of the dizziness. I cut Felix loose before finally hitting the ground, I was caught before my head could hit the floor.

Jungkook cut everyone else loose.

"Stay with me," Felix said. He applied pressure to my stomach. My vision blurred as I turned to Minho. Even though they were all beaten and tired, they were willing to do whatever it took to keep me alive.

My world went black, I prayed that I would wake back up and see his face again...
