As soon as the plane touched down, Lily Rose stepped out of the aircraft with confidence, strutting like a proud peacock displaying its beautiful feathers. Mr. Jock, her lawyer in England, welcomed her at the bottom of the stairs and introduced himself as Zane Jock. Than he said "you're now Miss Carol, correct?". Carol replied, shaking his hand, "Yes, that's correct. We talked on the phone." Lily Rose added, "Hello, Mr. Jock. It's a pleasure to meet you." Mr. Jock then inquired about her trip, to which she responded, "I've been eagerly looking forward to coming back here. By the way, our lawyer in France, Mr. Porten, spoke very highly of you." "That's very kind of him and you, madam," Jock replied. Lily Rose then asked if there were any changes to the plan, to which Mr. Jock confirmed that everything was proceeding as planned
and that he will tell her everything in detail in the car. He asked the ladies to get into the car. During the drive, he handed her a file and said, "This file contains all the information about the families, the Greikman and Smiths, and all their partners from A to Z. As for our agreement with their company, it's ready, and they're only waiting for you to make some minor modifications."
"I don't understand, like what?" Madame Bernard asked. He replied, "Like the allocation of shares among the company's board members. " "Impossible," she protested. "This agreement will be signed, and it will be as I want it."In the office of the CEO of Greikman and Partners Jewellery Company, stood Mr. George Greikman himself, gazing out of his towering window that overlooked a vast expanse of Manchester's cityscape. He held a glass of exquisite red wine, procured from a special collection, when a knock interrupted his reverie. A man in his mid-thirties, with a countenance that blended intelligence and dullness, entered the room with an air of peculiar strangeness. "Adrian, my dear boy, welcome," greeted Mr. George, gesturing him to sit. "I hope I'm not disturbing you," replied Adrian. "Nonsense! Would you like to join me for a drink?" offered Greikman, his voice resonating with warmth. "No, thank you. I don't like to drink in the daytime," declined Adrian. "Very well, please take a seat," invited Greikman, indicating the chair opposite him.
"The day has come, hasn't it?" Greikman asked, his eyes betraying a sense of excitement. Adrian nodded with a hint of anxiety, knowing full well why he was there. "Have you spoken with Mrs. Bernard?" he asked. Greikman smiled knowingly and replied, "Mrs. Bernard is a woman of great strength and intelligence. She has taken care of everything through her employees and lawyers. We haven't had the pleasure of meeting her yet, but tonight, we shall finally meet our mysterious benefactor."
Adrian couldn't help but feel bewildered. "But have you not wondered why a company as massive and renowned as hers would want to partner with us, a struggling company in dire straits?" Greikman's expression turned stern, and he replied with a hint of arrogance, "Because she knows our past, our strength, and our potential. Her shrewd mind sees the value in investing in a company like ours. In due time, we shall return to our former glory, and even surpass it. It will be a win for all, and she wants a share of that victory."
"But you know our company is in dire straits," Adrian protested. Greikman's demeanor turned bullish, refusing to acknowledge any weakness. "Nonsense! We have weathered far worse storms than this. This is nothing compared to our past trials. Besides, even if the Frenchwoman had not presented us with this opportunity, we would have found a way to rise above our circumstances...".
Adrian interrupted George, his voice cutting through the room, "But the loan request has been denied, Mr. George." George remained composed and replied, "No matter, we will submit an application to another bank." With those words, George ended the conversation and turned his gaze towards the opposite wall. Adrian felt unwelcome and requested permission to leave from Mr. George, who did not even bother to turn and look at him. He simply gestured with his finger that Adrian was free to go, and so he left.Meanwhile, in the palace, preparations were in full swing. Mrs.Olivia was giving orders non-stop, until she caught a glimpse of her friend who had arrived early. "Hello Giselle, it seems you've been waiting for me for quite some time. We will be receiving an important guest tonight, and that's why we're so busy. I want everything to be at its best." Giselle replied, "Oh my dear, everything you do is surely magnificent," and then took a fleeting glance at the luxurious gemstone that was displayed inside a tightly closed glass box in the center of the room. "It seems that gemstone is very expensive. Do you want to show off your wealth to the Frenchwoman?" Giselle asked. Lady Olivia responded, "You could say that, but in truth, this gemstone means a lot to us. It was the first stone that George acquired when he went to South Africa. He brought it back and had it polished, and now we want to display it at an auction, with the proceeds going to our charity. "
