At that moment, Lily Rose turned to him. Vincent was able to stand and ran towards the door. Lily tried to catch him, but she ran into a man in the hallway. "Sir, sir, please help me. My wife has poisoned me," Andrew said. But the man was drunk and pushed him away and left.
Vincent ran from person to person in the lobby, but he couldn't make anyone understand what was happening to him. In a fit of panic, he ran out of the hotel. When Lily caught up to him and called out to him, he darted across the street, barely escaping being hit by a car. As he ran down the street, he got hitted by a car" An ambulance arrived, its flashing lights illuminating the darkened street. The paramedics swiftly and carefully lifted him onto a stretcher and into the back of the ambulance, where they worked to revive him. His heart slowly began to beat once more, and he groggily muttered a few words. Lily Rose, in her car with Carol by her side, pulled up to the scene just as the ambulance was about to drive away.
At the hospital, nurses and doctors rushed by with carts, hurrying him down the halls and into the operating room. Lily and her assistant followed close behind, desperate to be with him in his time of need. Despite her efforts, she was denied entry into the operating room, where the man she had watched being tortured just an hour before lay unconscious, muttering a single word to her as she tried to enter. The hours ticked by painfully slow, and Lily's tears flowed ceaselessly. Finally, after four agonizing hours, he was wheeled out of the operating room and into the intensive care unit.
As the nurses transferred him to his new bed, Lily stopped a third nurse and inquired about his condition. The nurse looked at her quizzically and asked, "Who are you?" Lily replied, "I'm his ex-wife. How is he?"
The nurse responded simply, "The doctors did what they could. All we can do now is wait for him to wake up."
Lily was beside herself. "Has he not woken up at all since he arrived here, or during the operation?" she demanded.
"I can't answer that," the nurse replied calmly.
Lily gripped the nurse's shoulders and shook her in frustration. "How can you not know? How can you not tell me?" Carol tried to intervene, but Lily was beyond reasoning with.
"I understand how upset you are, ma'am," the nurse said evenly, "but you need to let me go now, or I'll have to call security." Finally, Carol was able to pry Lily's fingers off the nurse's shoulders and lead her away, but Lily was inconsolable.
In another corner of the hospital, the nurse spoke to the surgeon in hushed tones. "I overheard Andrew say that his ex-wife poisoned him," she said. The surgeon ordered her to report this to hospital security, as there might be some truth to his statement.
On Harry's farm, he ate the stale sandwich that his daughter had given him, despite his own reservations, so as not to hurt her feelings. But as she took the first bite, she burst out laughing, and demanded that he stop eating it lest he break his teeth before finishing it. Harry tried to ease her discomfort by saying, "But the filling is delicious." She replied, "Of course it's delicious. I got it from my mother's recipe." Her father reassured her, "No worries, your cooking skills will improve with time, and you will become just as skilled as your mother.""Dad," she said, changing the subject, "who was the woman who came this morning?"
"An old acquaintance," Harry replied.
"She doesn't even have a name!" Sara exclaimed.
"Rose. Lily Rose," Harry replied.
Sara's face changed, but she tried to hide it from her father. At that time, Lily Rose was spending the longest night of her life. With the dawn of the next day, there was a strange commotion in the hospital, and suddenly many doctors and nurses were rushing into Vincent's room. Lily tried to enter, but the nurse stopped her. Carol tried to calm her down and said, "Maybe he lied to you to save himself. We can't trust the word of someone like him." Lily replied, her eyes peering through the curtain of the room's window, "Even if it's a possibility." The doctors continued to shock his heart and inject him with numerous needles for half an hour, but to no avail. After they had given up hope of his returning to life, the doctor announced his death at 4:34am. The news struck Lily Rose like a lightning bolt. She pushed the nurse aside and entered the room, hitting him and shouting, "Wake up, wake up! Tell me where my daughter is. You can't die now." The nurses pulled her out of the room. At that moment, Carol overheard a security guard talking to his colleague that they suspected his wife had poisoned him, and that the police were on their way. Lily Rose grabbed Carol's arm and asked her, "Are you sure they won't be able to find out that you poisoned him?" Lily replied, "Yes."
About an hour later, the police arrived at the hospital and tried to take Lily Rose to the police station, but she refused and asked them to follow her in her car. When Lily and her assistant left the hospital's door, They saw Andrew, the driver for the Greikman family, at the door talking on the phone with a look of tension on his face. The two women looked at each other with a confirming glance before getting into their car. Carol called lawyer Jock as she was afraid something might happen to Lily that night. After approximately two hours, Lily finally emerged from the police station after proving through a forensic examination that her ex-husband had died from a heart attack and other accident-related causes. His body was free of any toxins. When the two women got into the car, Carol asked Lily how she could be so sure of what she had done. Lilyvreplied, "It was easy because I didn't poison him, at least not physically. All I did was put a headache pill in his glass.".
In the meantime, Olivia was at the bridal dress shop with her daughter, trying to hide her frustration and anxiety. She had ordered her third cup of coffee since she arrived, and even the second cup was still in her hand when Eva asked her what was making her tense. Olivia smiled and walked towards her, saying, "Mother of the bride's nerves."
"I don't understand why you're the one who's nervous when I'm the one suffering here. I've been looking for hours, and I haven't found a dress I like," Eva replied.
She stopped talking when Niaa, the shop owner, entered carrying the dress, which I think was the hundredth one. Eva didn't like it, and she found a thousand flaws with it. She had always hated Jennifer's designs since she was a child, but her mother always forced her and her sister to wear them. But today, on this special day, she couldn't hide her hatred for those overpriced dresses. The dress she was holding, for example, had a low neckline, the beading was too gaudy, and the size at the bottom was neither elegant nor princess-like. It looked like Niaa had sewn it for her grandmother's wedding. Eva tried to sneak away without trying it on, but her mother forced her to do so. Even after wearing it, her feelings towards it didn't change, the people in the room were amazed, "a bunch of hypocrites, I'm sure they were whispering about how ugly it was," Eva thought to herself.
Olivia had forgotten about her worries over the beauty of the dress or her third cup of coffee. She stood up and hugged her daughter, and happiness engulfed her. At that moment, Sarah, Harry's daughter, entered the store. "Oh, sorry I'm late. I overslept after my dad and I stayed up late last night," she said.
"I've been waiting for you to save me for a long time. Tell me, what do you think of this dress? It's hideous, isn't it?" Eva asked.
"Well, we can't say it's hideous, but it's definitely not suitable for our generation for sure," Sarah replied, looking at Olivia, who was trying to get her to agree.
The girls burst out laughing.
Olivia tried to stifle her laughter, fearful that Mrs. Niaa might hear them and become upset. But neither Sarah nor Eva could contain their laughs, and Olivia even appeared to have burst into a momentary fit of giggles. Despite this, she remained steadfast in her opinion that it was the most beautiful dress she had ever seen. She urged Mrs. Niaa to come with them and suggested some modifications while Eva stood idly by like a puppet. As soon as they finished, Eva rushed to the changing room and stripped off the dress. When she returned to the room where her mother was waiting, she spoke angrily: "It seems that the wedding in three weeks is yours."
"What do you mean?" asked Olivia.
"That's for sure, because I haven't seen myself have any say in choosing anything, not even my wedding dress," Eva replied.
"I know what's best for you. Do you think I'll make you a laughingstock in front of people?" Olivia retorted.
"But that's exactly what you're doing," Eva shot back.
"Well, let's close this discussion for now and head back home quickly," Olivia said, eager to move on from the argument.
The three of them left the store after Olivia bid farewell to Mrs. Jennifer and advised her on the modifications to the dress. Andrew was waiting for Olivia in the car outside the store, while Eva went to drop off Sarah at her home.
