The old lovers met again

As George approached them, he turned to his guest and said, "Rose, I can hardly believe it's you. You've become such a beautiful and elegant lady."

Lily Rose replied, "Time changes many things," with a smile. She then greeted the rest of the group, but Odilia admonished her for getting married without telling her or even inviting her. Lily responded, "I couldn't tell or bid farewell to anyone."

Meanwhile, Adrian was enchanted by her beauty, unable to take his eyes off her. He only snapped out of his daze when Lily mentioned, "Adrian, I remember you well. You were Odilia's lover at the time." Although his features changed slightly, he didn't care as long as the words came from Lily Rose's lips. "Is this really you, Lily Rose, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Greikman?" he asked, smiling.

Lily nodded and Adrian continued, "I never expected our new partner to be so beautiful and powerful." She laughed at his words and said, "And I'm also happy to have a handsome and charming manager like you among us."

Adrian puffed up his chest while his wife seethed with anger beside him. In the midst of their conversation, Eva jumped between them and scolded Lily at length for being absent from her life. She then introduced her fiancé Simon, whom Lily remembered well. She had memorized the names of all the guests on New Year's Eve in 2006, and when Lily left them, the two men followed her with their eyes. Odilia still looked visibly annoyed.

A few minutes later, Giselle approached Lily's table and sat next to her. She was a woman who loved to gossip and spread rumors, and after greeting her, she pointed to the box displayed in the middle of the room and informed her that they would auction off that jewel for charity next week, which took care of orphaned children. They were now boasting about it to everyone. Lily asked her about the starting price of the auction, and Giselle replied, "250,000 pounds."

Lily called out to Carol and said to her, "Write a check for Mrs. Olivia for 750,000 pounds. I'll buy that jewel from her and take it with me."
Giselle was taken aback by her actions, but this was Lily Rose Bernard. After a while, Harry entered the party and headed towards the Groger family table after greeting his Aunt Olivia and her husband. He sat next to Adrian, who pointed him towards Mrs. Bernard. When Harry saw her, time seemed to stand still. He couldn't see or hear anything except his irregular heartbeat. He only snapped out of it when Odilia called him several times. She smiled to herself and said, "She's still beautiful, isn't she? That night was also very beautiful. I waited for you all night, but you didn't come." Harry replied without realizing it, still looking towards Rose, "Yes, very beautiful."

Lily Rose turned towards him and when she saw him, she felt like the room was spinning ten times a second. She couldn't hold herself back and her eyes filled with tears. She turned away from him, but she didn't let out a sob and looked back towards him, but he was gone. He had left the party quickly without saying goodbye to anyone.

The party continued and everyone tried to prove their strength and appearance, although a hidden tension showed from time to time. Olivia approached Lily Rose's table and gestured to Carol to leave them alone. Her adoptive mother said, "You left your husband and disappeared from sight, and now you return after sixteen years. Can I know why?" Lily Rose looked at her and smiled, "I missed you so much. I couldn't forget you, just as I couldn't forget anyone present." Olivia replied, "And you came on a night as important as this. This night was prepared in honor of our charitable organization." Lily Rose interrupted her, saying, "The Society for Persecuted Children. Did you forget that I was one of them? I never forgot your affection and love."

At twelve o'clock, Lily decided to leave. She said goodbye to her hosts and left with her assistant. She didn't speak a word during the whole trip. While waiting for the traffic light, a newlywed couple's car stopped next to them. When Lily saw them, her face turned pale, and she remembered when Vincent dragged her into his filthy house, begging him not to leave her.
But he said to her, "From this day on, this is your house and I am your husband. I have paid a good price for you and I do not want to hear another word." He left her crying and went out. Lily Rose Elr reached her room and sat down. Then she took out the jewel she had bought and looked at it. Carol said to her, "We must put it in a safe deposit box at the bank. You paid too much for it, even if it doesn't worth thwt much" Lily replied, "We will not put it anywhere. It will remain in front of my eyes, so that I always remember why I came here, and so that my heart becomes harder than it, many times over." Then she said, "You have to solve another matter tonight." Carol asked her permission and left.
