In a quaint studio nestled near the verdant expanse of Heaton Park, Harry lounged in his garden, lost in thought. The stillness was abruptly interrupted by Adrian's arrival, who approached him with a concerned air. "I came to check on you," Adrian said. "Was Mrs. Bernard the reason for your abrupt departure?"
Harry's response was curt and irritable. "Certainly not. You know how I loathe the insipid and shallow gatherings that pass for parties these days."
Adrian's keen observation was not lost on Harry, who swiftly averted his gaze. "You used to love her, or should I say you've loved her since forever, your eyes betray you," Adrian pressed.
"I loved her, or so I thought," Harry replied, his voice laced with melancholy.
Adrian nodded sagely, acknowledging Harry's words. "I'll take your word for it, but I must say, you made the right choice. I remember her from my days at the company when I saw her several times. She was a vision of beauty and kindness, and now, as Mrs. Bernard, she exudes strength and sophistication."
Harry was incredulous. "Who is Mrs. Bernard? The woman I adored was named Lily Rose, and the woman who graced the party tonight was not the same person."
Adrian shook his head in disagreement. "I must beg to differ, my friend. That rough stone was meticulously polished over the years, transforming into a masterpiece of art that is hard to match."
Meanwhile, inside the opulent mansion, the atmosphere was charged with tension. Olivia's voice rang out, her ire palpable. "How could you not know who the people you'll be partnering with are? It's outrageous!"
George's response was casual and indifferent. "What can I do, my dear? She concealed her identity so well that I never thought Mrs. Bernard could be Lily Rose, whom we raised."
Olivia was aghast. "You cannot possibly be considering making her your partner now that you know who she is!"
George shrugged nonchalantly. "Honestly, my dear, after receiving her money and saving the company, I could care less if it's Lily Rose or anyone else."
Olivia's eyes flashed with fury. "Are you out of your mind? Can't you see the malice in her eyes? She's here for revenge!"
George chuckled, his expression sardonic. "It's rather advantageous to have a partner whose sole motivation is revenge. It keeps them focused and ensures that personal matters do not interfere with business. Otherwise, they'll make repeated mistakes that will hasten their own downfall."
Olivia was not convinced by George's reasoning, but she knew better than to argue with him. With a heavy heart, she made her way to bed, the weight of the situation weighing heavily upon her.
In a park near the hotel where Lily Rose was staying for the night, she sat on a bench near the entrance. When her car pulled up to the park's entrance, Andrew, the driver for the Greycourt family, stepped out and asked, "What do you want from me? Why am I here?" Carol motioned for him to go to Lady Lily Rose. He walked over to her, and she looked at him and said, "Sit down." He sat next to her, and she spoke angrily, "Why did you let them do that? Why did you let them evict me?"
Andrew replied, "I couldn't do anything about it."
Lily Rose responded, "You saved me from them several times whenever I got into trouble, but when it was my turn to be evicted, you left me."
Andrew said, "What could I do? I'm just a driver."
"You mean you're one of their slaves," Lily Rose said with disdain.
Andrew lowered his head, and Lily continued, "You can stop all of this. Leave them and work for me. I'll protect you from them."
"I can't," Andrew said. "It's too late for me. I'm like a fish, and they're the sea that surrounds me."
"If you have two choices left, either escape or prepare yourself, then the whirlpool will swallow you too. You can leave now," Lily Rose said.
Andrew stood up, and as he was about to leave, he extended his hand towards her, holding the remaining beads that fell off her bracelet when Olivia fired her and he left.
The next morning, Lily Rose's car stopped in front of the Greycourt & Co. jewelry company. As she stepped out, Carol asked her, "Are you ready to turn this 80-year-old company into a barren wasteland?"
"That's why we're here," Lily Rose replied. She met Mr. Jock at the entrance, and in the conference room, George, Odelia, her husband, and the company lawyers were gathered. George asked for their opinions on the contract's terms, and none of them objected. Odelia added, "I think the terms are reasonable. She'll become a partner with a fifty-one percent share, and she'll save our company, which we know she's capable of. She's a strong, intelligent, and talented young woman who will benefit us greatly. Plus, she was my closest friend. Even though we've been separated for years, I'm sure we'll be friends again."
George smiled at her words and said, "Bravo, you are always smart and practical."

Someone knocked on the door, and it was Mr. George's assistant who informed them of Mr. Bernard's arrival. George gave her permission to enter and greeted her along with the others. After taking off her coat, she elegantly settled into the chair at the head of the table, while he gestured for her to sit in the chair opposite him. George didn't show much reaction to the matter and went to sit across from her. Lily opened her mouth to speak and said, "Let's get to the heart of the matter. Our lawyers have done most of the work, and I won't take up much of your time. However, I have one item I want to add to the contract."
Mr. George asked, "And what is this item?"
Lily Rose replied, "I will be purchasing 51% of the company's shares, and for this reason, I want to lead the company's board of directors. It's my natural right." The group looked at each other with hesitant glances, while George's eyes remained fixed on Lily, who took a piece of cake and ate it slowly, without lifting her eyes from him.
"I don't understand the reason for all this tension. I think you know the value of the amount I will invest in this company," Lily said.
George adjusted his position and said, "We have been accustomed for years to electing the chairman of the board of directors. What you are asking for now is difficult to achieve."
Lily replied, "But you have been the chairman of the board of directors for many years, and I think it's time for a change, to embark on a new journey with a new captain."
Adrian smiled at her words despite himself, while his wife was annoyed and didn't try to hide it, even interrupting the conversation by saying, "I don't think we should rush to sign agreements."
Lily asked Adrian if his wife agreed, to which he replied, "No, I mean, Mrs. Odilia and Mr. George know what is best for the company." Lily Rose stood up and said, "I'll give you time to think, but I can't promise to wait long. If I don't receive a response from you, I'll open a branch of my company here in England, and I have already obtained permission from the Ministry of Commerce." Her lawyer handed over the request file to the lawyer for the Greycroft company, and as Lily was leaving, she added, "Think carefully. It would be most advantageous for you to be my partners, for it is most unfortunate to be foes," she said before departing. As she walked down the company corridor, she turned to her assistant and said, "We shall not leave this matter to chance. Proceed with what must be done, and continue on with what you are doing."
"Absolutely," Carol replied
