Morgan leaned against the bathroom counter, a teasing smile on her face as she watched her younger sister apply her makeup. Mariah was nervous about hanging out with Thaïs, and Morgan couldn't help but find it amusing.
Between Morgan thinking this was a joke, Brandon in her ear convincing her not to go on the date, and Dess telling her she didn't need any more nonindustry friends, she didn't know who she was most annoyed with.
"You're nervous about hanging out with Thai?" Morgan asked, a hint of amusement in her voice.
Mariah sighed, putting down her beauty blender. "Yes! She's a little awkward, and I don't want to make her uncomfortable."
Morgan chuckled. "Thai's awkwardness is part of her charm, Mariah. She can't help it if that's who God made her to be. I think it's adorable. Just be yourself and everything will be fine."
Mariah nodded, but she still looked worried. "And what about small talk? Aya told me not to make small talk with Thaïs because she hates it."
Morgan rolled her eyes. "Don't worry about that. Aya can be a little dramatic sometimes. Just talk to Thaïs like you would to anyone else. I'm sure she'll appreciate it. Aya told me she's nervous too."
"Yeah, but that's because she has anxiety. While I'm over here worrying about saying the wrong thing, she could be having a panic attack right now." Mariah set her face with Huda Beauty powder before spraying it.
"Okay, now you're dragging it. Y'all are gonna have fun!" Morgan stated, gently placing Mariah's Cross necklace on her bare chest. She clasped it in the back before turning her sister by her shoulders, "Aya may or may not have mentioned that to me. Just talk to her as if y'all are already besties."
Mariah nodded her head, understandingly. That somehow made a lot of sense, "I think I can do that. She doesn't really seem like she cares about what I be talking about."
"Well, sometimes you do just be talking to talk." Morgan giggled to herself. If you were lucky enough to get the introvert to speak to you, she would talk your ears off.
Mariah rolled her eyes, but couldn't protest, because she knew the statement was true. "Shut up."
"Does Brandon know you're going out tonight? I know he's not fond of the idea of you being friends with her." Morgan thought Brandon should mind his business. She already didn't like him, and he was making it worse by speaking about her best friend.
"He thinks Thaïs is like Aya since they're sisters, but they didn't even grow up together. I love Aya, but that girl has a few loose screws." Mariah joked, grabbing a handbag from her closet. She stuffed it with all her essentials before checking the time. 1:32.
"Not too much on my bestie," Morgan laughed, standing from the bed. She straightened her sister's outfit before walking out of the room. She was going to catsit Miso while her sister was away.
