"A little commotion for the dress, please?"
Thaïs slowly did a 360, showcasing the dress Aya picked out for her. It was a sleeveless, champagne-colored satin ball gown with a slit on the right side that showcased just enough of her long legs to be alluring. The fabric hugged her curves and cupped her breasts just right, enough to tease, but not enough to be downright inappropriate. Thaïs ran her hands down the fabric, smoothing out invisible wrinkles as she turned back to face the others.
"What do we think?" she asked, arching a brow.
Aya clapped her hands, practically beaming. "I love it!"
"You are taking it, honey!" Tori snapped her fingers. "I like this design. Aya, can we wear matching dresses?"
Tori's dress was the same color as Thaïs', but that was where the similarities ended. Hers was a halter dress with a body-hugging fit that accentuated every curve, the fabric smooth against her skin. The open-back design dipped low, showing off just enough to be daring without crossing the line. It clung to her frame before flowing straight down to her ankles, giving effortless elegance with a sultry edge.
"Matching dresses?" Thaïs repeated, adjusting the top of her dress. "For my sister's wedding? I think you're insane."
"I picked out everyone's dress based on what I thought would look best on y'all. That dress wouldn't look good on you Victoria, because you have short legs," Aya explained, adjusting the back of Morgan's dress.
Thaïs nodded. "Yeah. Besides, you can't match with the maid of honor."
"I look good in anything." Tori frowned, taking a seat on the leather ottoman in the fitting area. She checked the time on her watch before sighing. They had been at the shop for almost three hours, and Aya still had yet to even try on her wedding dress. "How much longer is this gonna take? I need to take a nap before my shift."
"You don't wanna see the bride in her dress?" Aya questioned.
"I can wait five months to see you. I'll live," Tori said with a mock smile.
Aya had been planning her wedding for the past year, and now that the big day was approaching, it was all starting to feel real. For a while, Thaïs had actually forgotten Aya was getting married—they didn't really talk about the wedding much. But from what she had heard, Aya was a total bridezilla, so maybe that was for the best.
As the maid of honor, Thaïs didn't have many responsibilities since Aya had hired a wedding planner. The only thing she was in charge of was the bachelorette party. Fortunately, that was her area of expertise.
With the wedding just five months away, Aya had scheduled an initial dress fitting to get a sense of what she liked and didn't like. So far, so good. Every dress either fit to her liking or only needed minor alterations that could be done in under five minutes.
