"Hola chica!" Jaelyn opened the door for her best friend, squealing excitedly. She stepped aside to welcome Thaïs into her new home.

"Cariña. I haven't seen you in so long!" Thaïs wrapped her hands around Jaelyn's neck, pulling her into a quick hug. She pecked her cheek before taking a look around the house. She loved the bohemian vibe that was going on. Removing her shoes, Thaïs commented on Jaelyn's choice of interior design, "You did a nice job decorating."

"Thank you. Come to the kitchen." Jaelyn made her way to the kitchen for her to follow. She grabbed two water bottles out of the fridge for them. Looking Thaïs up and down, she laughed at the outfit she wore, "Girl...what do you have on? I can see your nipples through your shirt."

Thaïs let out a laugh and folded her arms over her chest. She rolled her eyes at the comment but decided to let it slide since she was telling the truth. "Sorry, I didn't have time to change before I came here."

Jaelyn dropped the knife she was using to cut a watermelon and looked up at Thaïs, who was scrolling through her phone. Feeling her burning a hole in her head, she slowly looked up to see Jaelyn glaring at her. Thaïs stared at her without saying anything. The two were having a staring contest for about a minute until Jaelyn spoke up.

"Where were you, huh? Had a booty call?"

Thaïs stared at the girl with a blank expression on her face before taking a sip of water. Jaelyn shrugged her shoulders and picked the knife up as she waited for an answer. Thaïs knew she was about to annoy her. "Absolutely not. I was at Mariah's house."

"You didn't tell me you were going there," Jaelyn commented, placing slices of the fruit onto a plate.

"You have my location. You could've easily checked." Thaïs smartly remarked. Jaelyn must not have cleansed her new home, because the vibes were all the way off. She picked a slice of watermelon off the plate before Jaelyn smacked her hand away. Thaïs dragged out a sigh to let her know how petty she was being.

Jaelyn moved the plate closer to her so she couldn't reach it, indicating she didn't care. The two could have a whole conversation without using words. "See that's what we're not about to do. It would've just been nice to be informed that you were going there."

"Jae I don't have to tell you every time I hang out with her. We're just getting to know each other." Thai didn't understand why it was such a big deal, but Jaelyn was just like Aya in the sense that she always felt like she had to protect Thaïs from everyone.

To Jaelyn, it wasn't a big deal, but she felt like Thaïs hadn't been telling her everything that had been going on lately. She had to hear from Aya that she had a newfound crush when usually she would be the first to know. Even though they were best friends, she understood Thaïs wasn't obligated to tell her everything, but she still wanted to be there to help. "Aya told me it's more than that."
