Just as Nathan was about to say something our doorbell rang causing the ears to perk up turning toward it.

"Who's that?..I'll go see who it is I'll be right back."

He said in a curious tone as he stood and walked to the door gaining a curious hum and nod from me as the tail slowly stopped wagging.

After a short time I could hear talking in the hall just outside our apartment prompting the ears to turn toward it allowing me to realize someone was with him.

"Who the hell is that?!"

I quietly said to myself with panic and annoyance as I quickly ran to my room closing the door behind me.

"You know, you coulda called to let me know you were coming right?"

He said with irritation and worry in his voice muffled slightly as I stood with the left side of my head against the door with my hands resting on the door level with my shoulders.

As I listened the ears twitched and turned allowing me to hear a voice say:

"I'm your sister, you should expect this by now bro."

In an amused tone causing me to realize that it was his older sister Emma who was 26 years old.

She stood 5'3 with a fair skinned plump build and honey brown eyes as well as softly curled mid back length black hair.

What the hell is she doing here?!

I thought to myself with panic and curiosity listening to the sound of them walking over to and sitting on the couch.

"Where's Malia? She's not at work is she?"

Emma asked curiously with slight disappointment in her voice causing me to softly furrow my brow as I stood there curious as to why she was asking about me.

"Uhm..no, she's in bed cause she's sick."

Nathan said in a thoughtful but convincing tone gaining a sympathetic hum from her.

"Oh poor thing, I hope she feels better soon."

She said in a sympathetic and caring tone before pausing for a moment with a curious hum before continuing:

"...Hey, when'd you guys get a dog?"

In a curious and confused tone causing my breath to hitch as my heart raced trying to figure out what she was talking about hearing a surprised and confused grunt from Nathan.

"Uh..what do you mean?"

He asked in a slightly concerned and dumbfounded tone gaining an amused scoff from Emma.

"Don't play dumb bro, look at the fur all over your shirt and the couch."

She said in an amused tone gaining another surprised and confused grunt from him as I guessed he looked at everything.

"Oh, uh...yesterday. Sorry I uh, kinda forget for a sec."

He said in a thoughtful and slightly panicked tone gaining a curious and intrigued happy squeak from her as I let out a quiet embarrassed whimper.

"And you didn't tell me?! Come on! You know I love dogs, where is it?"

She said in an eager and enthusiastic tone gaining a panicked grunt from Nathan before he said:

"Uh, s-she's laying with Malia."

In a panicked and concerned tone gaining an eager and curious hum from her as I heard her stand up.

"Ah, she's keeping Malia company huh? I'm gonna just go take a little peak at the little cutie."

She said in a soft and happy tone as she started walking towards my door causing my heart to skip a beat feeling the tail curl between my legs along with the ears angling back out of anxiousness.

"Uh, no! You probably shouldn't...Malia's trying to rest and the uh, the dog will probably bark and wake her up if you open the door."

Nathan said in a panic clearly stumbling for something to say as he quickly followed her.

"Don't worry, I'll be as quiet as a mouse."

She whispered in a soft and eager tone as she got closer to my door causing me to panic before hearing Nathan quickly step between her and the door.

"Em, seriously. Just let her rest you can say hi another time."

He said in a worried but stern tone gaining a soft disappointed whine from her.

"Ok ok, I'll leave them be."

She said in a soft and reassuring tone gaining a relieved breath from him as I quietly did the same feeling the tail and ears relax a bit.

"So, what did you come over for?"

He asked in a slightly calmer and curious tone gaining a thoughtful hum from her.

"Oh yeah!"

She quietly said with excitement and amusement before continuing:

"Totally forgot, my bad, got puppy on the brain."

In the same tone as they walked back over to the couch.

"I was gonna ask you two if you'd wanna come with me to the movies but we can do that another time when she's feeling better."

She said in a soft and caring tone gaining a hesitant grunt from him as I assumed he nodded.

"Uh, ya. When she's feeling better."

He said in a thoughtful tone gaining an exciting hum from her.

After that they talked a little longer before saying goodbye and she left.

Thank god..

I thought to myself with relief as I opened my door and walked out seeing Nathan walking back to the couch.

"Thanks for stopping her from opening my door."

I said in a soft and thankful tone as I sat to his right feeling the tail curl around my right side off the couch gaining a smile and nod from him.

"Of course."

He said in a happy and reassuring tone gaining a small smile from me before remembering back to what they'd said unintentionally letting out a soft embarrassed squeak.

"What's up?"

He asked curiously causing me to turn and look up at him with embarrassment.

"W-Why'd you say you got a dog.."

I quietly asked in an embarrassed and curious tone feeling my cheeks softly blush gaining a surprised grunt from him as he stared at me thinking to himself for a moment.

"Uhm...well, I panicked and it was the first thing that popped into my head."

He said in an awkward and thoughtful tone looking down at me.

Hearing this I felt my cheeks get warmer letting out an unintentional embarrassed whimper.

"S-So what...I'm your dog now.."

I quietly said full of embarrassment as my entire face warmed up blushing brighter while I continued to look up at him seeing a thoughtful and unsure look in his eyes as his gaze briefly shifted between my face and the ears.
