I really do apologize... I've been having some issues - trust me it hasn't been very easy, but I could never forget about you all. So here is the update. Let me know how you like the story.

=Chapter 23=

I couldn't sleep one bit. So, I brought myself to my feet and walked out onto the nice little patio that we have connecting to our bedroom. I stood there looking out at the town lights. They were so warm and inviting - reminds me of him. His eyes. Although they were pure black, it seems as if there was always something so comforting about them. I shook the thought off quickly coming back to reality. I'm with Chris now... Though my thoughts always wonder to what would have happened if I ended up with Severus. It's horrible and wrong to think about it. Chris has been more than amazing to me, but he can't fill a certain void that HE did. Fuck it. I need to end this. I need to see Severus and give myself closure.

I used Floo powder to get to Diagon Alley and then appariated to the gates of the Castle.  The gates were locked, but it wasn't long until I found Hagrid.

"Ms.Caffery, is that you now?" He asked in shock. I ran up to him and hugged him just like I always did before.

"Tis' you." He gripped me tighter and pulled me up to his chest placing a light kiss on my fore head.

"You turned out to be quite a beautiful woman. What brings you to the castle at this time of night in your jammies?" I blushed forgetting about my attire.

"Well... Um... I need to see someone regarding a potion that I've been working on." I lied through my teeth.

"That'd be Professor Snape."

"Oh that old dungeon bat is still here, huh?" I asked as if I were clueless.

"Yes, he is. Sad bloke he is. Always to himself."

"That sounds like Snape."

"I better be off feeding buckbeak before he starts to peck at his own claws again. Professor Snape is in the same office. Do you remember how to get there?"

"Yes, I do. Thank you, Hagrid." I hugged him once again and continued to the castle. Within, those three years of graduating nothing has changed. The trees and even the pathway to the castle looked exactly the same. I had to pinch myself a few times to make sure that I wasn't dreaming or quite worse, possibly back in Hogwarts again.  This was it. No more sleepless nights. No more thoughts about 'what if'. I can't stand it anymore. It is all ending tonight.

I made my way through the castle - Passing old classrooms and down the moving stair cases towards the Dungeons. Thank god for the shortcuts. 

The cold caused a shiver to travel up my spine making the hairs on my arm stand. I forgot that feeling. My breaths became shallow as I approached his door.

*knock knock*

I waited for a few minutes and knocked again.

"Do you not have any mann-" I hear THAT voice yell from the other side of the door, but stops mid sentence as the door flew open and he laid eyes upon me.

I see his face soften for a split second and then harden the next "What do you want?" He asked gritting through his teeth.

I put my hands on my hips and widen my stance. "Severus Snape, after all this time that is the first thing you say to me?" I waited for a response, but nothing came. "I don't know why I even bothered coming here. You were always so cold to me. There's no point" I added. 

I turned away and started making my way down the hallway. Not even thirty seconds with him and my blood boils. Until I felt a hand grab my arm and pull me to a complete halt. "There's no point in what, Mrs. Wright?" I turned towards him. Ouch. Mrs.Wright didn't sound right coming from his lips. He was so close. I could feel his warmth. I dared to look into those black eyes and everything came flashing back. That night when I played the piano. That night where I first heard Severus laugh. That's what I've been missing... Those moments that I would never care to share with anyone else, but with him.  Oh, fuck me. This isn't what I came here to do. To fall in love with him all over again.
