=Chapter 11=

=Chapter 11=

Severus blinked a few times realizing what he had just said. His eyes widened. "I mean you are very beautiful but truly every woman is in their own way." He said quickly. It sounded as if those words had a totally different meaning then what was set forth. I looked at the time, it was nearly midnight. How did time fly by so fast?! I quickly stood up, but being my clumsy self, I tripped over my feet and went straight down. Straight down on Severus. I closed my eyes.

"Gahh." I heard him say right before I collided with him and the ground.

Then there was a thump.

When all momentum stopped, I opened my eyes and saw that I was laying directly on Severus. Our legs were a bit tangled. I turned to Severus and saw that his face was drained of color. He was probably just as shocked as I was.

As smart as I thought I was, I tried to stand but that was a bad idea. I closed my eyes again waiting for the impact. I fell back down in the same spot. This time though, I felt something warm on my lips. My eyes shot open. My lips landed on Severus's. It took me a few seconds to register what was going on. I just lost my first kiss to my teacher and this all happened to be accidental. (((Authors Note: Thank You Mastonbates for the suggestion! (: )))

I pulled away searching for words.

"I didn't mean for that to happen." I said quickly. This time I stood carefully. Severus stood immediately, after it was clear that I wouldn't fall again.

Severus turned towards me and I turned towards him, "That was my first kiss." Severus and I said at the same time.

"Wait what?" I asked.

"I said Ms.Caffery, that that was my first kiss."

I blushed... How does a 35 year old man not have his first kiss yet?!

"Well umm... that was my first as well." I stuttered.

Severus gave me a shocked look. He probably doesn't believe me.

"We need to check the potion." He said abruptly as he turned and walked to the table. I followed quite a ways behind him

"It should be done in about 4 hours." He said matter of factly.

"Well seeing as it is nearly midnight, don't I need to go to my dorm?" I asked, since he is the head of my house.

"Well... you can stay here if you want. Dumbledore knows where you are, so you will be fine." He said.

Wow I get to stay here... with Severus... making a potion. Can this get any better?

After about an hour of throwing in more ingredients, we needed to let the potion sit for 3 more hours.

Severus and I sighed. "Well now we just need to wait." He said.

I walked over to the couch and took a seat. Surprisingly Snape sat right next to me, I thought he would sit on the chair near the fireplace.

"So what shall we do?" I asked breaking the silence.

"Well we can talk or we can read." He suggested.

"Let's talk."

"What would you like to talk about, Ariana?"

"Well what is your favorite song?"

"I don't listen to much music. Although, I have grown fond of the muggle composer who arranged 'Moonlight Sonata.'"

"Beethoven..." I said.

"Yes him."

As if on cue I yawned. I tried to hide it but Severus caught it.

"You could have told me I bore you." He said with a small chuckle.

"You don't bore me, I'm just really tired." I said yawning again.

Snape grabbed a pillow and set it on his lap. "There you go, go to sleep. I'll wake you up when the potion is done so we can deliver it to Dumbledore." He replied, very sweetly. I wish he was like this all the time. Sleep was the only thing that appealed to me at the moment, so I laid down and I turned so that I was on my back. Snape just sat there looking down at me. "Good night, Severus."

He gave me a smirk, "Good night, Ms. Caffery."

Oh Severus, why do you have to be my teacher? How could that be your first kiss at 35? Do you like me, the way I like you? I had so many questions that were unanswered.

Before I drifted off, I heard Severus say, " Ariana Caffery, you are a very intelligent and beautiful girl. I would give anything to have you, but I don't want to stop you from living your life. I really did enjoy the events that occurred tonight even though they were by accident. You give me a reason to smile but, nothing else can happen now, nor will anything happen in the future. Like I said, I am nearly double your age and I am your teacher for Merlin's sake. I don't want to hold you back on your dreams."

I tried to say something but I was too weak. I felt a single tear roll down my face. He knew I heard him because of the tear. He quickly wiped it and kissed my forehead. My heart felt as if it broke into a million pieces. I knew I couldn't be with him, so I just enjoyed being in his company, while it lasted.
