Aizawa Sensei?
"Hey, peppermint- don't mess this up for me."
"I should be the one saying that to you." he retorted
The match-ups had been displayed,
Izanami Ryoko and Todoroki Shoto VS
Aizawa Shota: Pro hero- Erasurehead was the fifth one.
The two had overheard Mina and a few of their classmates overheard whispering about it being fate or something but brushed it off, choosing to analyse other matches and come up with strategies for theirs instead.
Aizawa sensei was not one to be underestimated.
Luckily for them, the two had become familiar with each other's fighting style and so the only thing which they needed to do to guarantee their victory was to put that knowledge and familiarity to use and cooperate flawlessly.
"Let's go," He said, when it was their turn and she nodded,
"All the best guys!"
"Y'all can do it!!"
Their classmates cheered them on, like they did with each pair up when they went for their respective matches.
"You comfortable with using your fire?" she glanced at him, as they awaited for the bell to ring and indicate the beginning of the match
"Yes," he assured her
The blonde smirked, "Good."
"Plan C first?"
"Plan C it is."
No sooner did the bell ring, that the two sprinted of in opposite directions.
Todoroki focusing on sheathing his path and surroundings, with a fine layer of ice and Izanami forming bars, and creating a mini-obstacle while she is at it.
"Uh what exactly is she doing?" Sero sweat dropped, the rest of their classmates donned the similar perplexed expression as they watched from the observation room.
Aizawa sensei caught up first with the heterochromatic boy, who tried to freeze their homeroom teacher the second he appeared but of course the pro hero was faster, cancelling out his quirk in an instant.
Izanami hid behind a make believe pillar, one which was already present at site.
She looked down at the scene, having climbed up a story in the meantime. Grabbing hold of two metal chains she rounded them around their teacher, making him stumble but not lose his hold on Todoroki's quirk, who for a matter of fact did run off during the second of a stumble.
The thick metal chains around the man loosened, instead Izanami put on a show of a puppeteer.
Each finger of hers, now attached with fine metal strings to the poles she had created before, badgering them on him all at once.
Then they disappeared.
She had successfully managed to capture his full attention, going to reach for the dagger she had created in advance but falling short on reaction time as Aizawa sensei easily managed to catch her by his weapon/ scarf by then.
She struggled to get out, but stopped when he repeated words similar to the ones said by a certain training partner of hers,
"Izanami, your control on your quirk is good and you manage to use it to the most of its extent but you rely too much on it. Hand to hand combat without your quirk and you'd be in the latter half of the class. In future, it could even prove to be fatal."
The match got over after a while when peppermint had managed to catch the man off-guard by using fire instead of ice for his last blow, before capturing him in ice.
"Well that was embarrassing," The blonde said as the two returned back to where their class was.
"What was? We won."
"We won because of you."
"But we won using your plan."
"Well yeah, but the trick of you using your fire as a surprise element ain't gonna work anymore. By this point everyone's aware you've gotten past that hurdle."
"The rest of the plan went exactly as you expected though," he argued, before adding
"But we can always focus on hand-to-hand combat more if you want to."
She nudged his shoulder with hers, smiling.
"Look at you caring."
"It's nothing." he said, looking to side.
His face felt slightly hot, weird because obviously he'd offer to help her where she needs to improve. She's his training partner, after all.
That smile.
"Uh huh, sure peppermint sure."
