Sebastian let go of our surprising kiss, leaning back just enough so he could meet my eyes. Our breathing was erratic and unsteady, failing to match the quickened tempo of our heartbeats. I instinctively placed my palm on his cheek, like no time had passed, rubbing my thumb back and fourth over his stubble, the subtle softness prickling my fingers.

"You have no idea how long I've wanted to kiss you." His mouth curled into a smile as he drank in the moment, sipping my presence like a warm cup of coffee. I held my breath, all words escaping me, before he dove in for more, this time soft and slow, as if he was savoring every second that we were pressed together. I parted my lips, making room for our tongues to tangle like an old dance, his smooth taste a memory I had not forgotten over the years. For a while, we just explored each other's mouths, afraid that if we let go, reality would come swarming back and remind us of our lost time.

Sebastian's hands began to move frantically and hungrily, all about my back before unzipping my dress and slipping beneath the fabric, his icy touch sending a chill up and down my spine. I threaded my fingers through his hair, tousling the brown strands at the nape of his neck before moving to his collar, tugging at his tie, needing him closer. He'd never be close enough.

He kissed my neck, caressing my skin with his tongue and drawing out a whimper from deep within me. Taking that as positive reinforcement, he moved to the other side and I threw my head back giving him more places to explore with his mouth. He worked his way down, nibbling at my collarbone, a tingle spreading under my skin, igniting each nerve like it's own wildfire.

Sebastian returned his lips to mine as I rubbed my hands up and down his muscular arms, my fingers tracing over the folds in his shirt. He pressed his lips onto mine with even more intensity, his tongue continuing to dance slowly with mine, groaning into my mouth. We were losing an uphill battle at satiating our thirst for each other.

As our kisses began to slow down, he placed his forehead on mine, allowing us to catch our breath, pausing our long overdue meet up.

Sebastian peeled us off the stone wall that he had pushed me up against and guided us to the old heap of silk pillows and knitted blankets on the middle of the Undercroft floor. He laid us down carefully, positioning me on top of him, my legs straddling his midsection before reaching for my face, his gaze drunk with lust. Our bodies fit together so perfectly, him the missing piece to my puzzle, mine the missing piece to his.

"Wait," I paused our heated exchange, trying to regain my composure after melting into him. The room was suddenly spinning, his touch dizzying once I blinked away the daze I had fallen into.

"What?" Sebastian smirked, his lips swollen and reddening from our kiss, his hair going off in all different directions. His chest was rising and falling fast, anticipating my next move.

"Now what?" I barely managed to ask, not able to form a coherent sentence with all the passion that continued to flow through my veins. This exchange, his Veritaserum words, his touch—it changed everything.

"Now what, what?" He said the familiar phrase, raising his brows at me. And it was like the years hadn't passed at all. I became very aware of his splayed fingers holding my hips tightly, pulling me in close.

"Sebastian!" I rolled off of him, propping myself up on an elbow.

"What?! We have to make up for lost time!" He leaned in to continue what we started before I put a finger on his lips. I wanted him so badly, every single part of him. I needed to explore the muscular planes of his chest, the cords that ran up and down his forearms, the hardness that had been pressing into my core just moments before. I longed for him to be between my thighs, moving inside me with a sporadic rhythm only we'd understand. But moving too fast too soon wouldn't solve anything and it certainly wouldn't change the past.
