I sat in my last class of the day and Jennifer was next to me I had told her what Avva had told me and she was looking forward to putting that guy away. She was also apartment shopping on her phone I told her Avva had the final say to which she replied that she was giving her a list to choose from. I didn't care as I was still mentally working on a plan to convince my mother to let me move in with them or even move out in the first place.
"Hey I want to ask you something," I said to Jennifer.
"Oh yeah," Jennifer said.
"I was just wondering what your plans are for after school you know," I said.
"Oh well I have been thinking about going into nursing," Jennifer said.
"Really wow that is great and I know you will be a fantastic nurse," I said.
"You think so," Jennifer said.
"Yes you work hard and you have a caring personality you will do fine," I said.
"Thanks, what about you," Jennifer said.
"Well I have been considering opening my own shop like a small cafe or something," I said.
"Business owner huh," Jennifer said.
"It's just a thought still not sure what I want to do yet," I said.
"I get that," Jennifer said.
Once lunch rolled around I was with Avva and Jennifer in the library as they talk about how existed they were that Sam was finally going to be in a cell. I on the other hand was focusing on the fact that the pasta I had got for lunch clearly wasn't cooked right. As I stopped eating given the fact that the pasta was far less appetising now and I just laid back in my seat.
"So what do you think about this one," Jennifer said showing Avva another apartment on her phone.
"Three bedrooms two bathrooms and a decent view not bad best one yet," Avva said.
"Cool what about you Maisy," Jennifer said.
"I'm still trying to finger out the best way to get my mum to agree to this so just go for one that has all the space we need really don't mind," I said.
"Why don't you just say that we have been thinking about this for a while but now we actually have a chance to make it a reality," Avva said.
"So make it seem like less of and out of the blue idea," I said.
"Yeah," Avva said.
"I guess that could work, we'll see," I said.
I got home that day and Jennifer was with the others as they presented the evidence to the police since she want one other I didn't care as the evidence was undeniable. The two of us planned to all meet up and Avva's later to see how it all went down and to see if I was able to convince my mother. I got home and found my mum was in her study working on something that I didn't really understand not that I ever have.
"Hey mum so I need to talk to you," I said.
"Yes," My mum said as she turned around.
"It's nothing too big but me and Avva have been talking about this for a good few years now and well recent events have made it seem like less of a pipe dream now," I said.
"Okay, what is it?" My mum said.
"Well we have been thinking about getting a place together like an apartment so we could be roommates and since we are both heading to the same college it would make sense," I said.
"You mean you want to move out," My mum said.
"Not right now since Avva won't buy without my approval but soon yes," I said.
"Do know where you are going to move to," My mum said.
"No like I said Avv is making no plans to buy until I say yes that I will move in with her as a roommate," I said.
"They really do grow up so fast," My mum said.
"Wait you mean..." I said.
"You have my permission, go tell Avva I said yes," My mum said.
I jumped at my mum hugging her before bolting for the front door and running right to Avva's house to tell her and Jennifer the good news. I did get to Avva's before her so I just waited on her porch and then saw her walking over with Jennifer and they both looked happy.
"Well I am guessing by the looked on our faces that we all got what we wanted out of today," Jennifer said.
"So how did it go?" I asked.
"Well they looked over the evidence and said that they will be bringing him in ASAP, what about you how did it go with your mum?" Avva said.
"Well I told her about all the plans that we know about and then she smiled and was proud that I was taking the next step," I said.
"Alright our lives are finally looking up," Avva said pumping a fist in the air.
We then all headed into Avva'shose to talk with her dad about the apartment not like I expected him to say no to his little girl but us there did help. After we pick a place we all could agree on we set up a viewing for the weekend and told Lisa the plan which she was very happy about. Upon arriving at school the next day we didn't see Sam anywhere and at that moment the world seemed a little brighter. As the day went on it turned out we were the only ones that knew why Sam was surprisingly absent for the day but not like we cared.
I was at lunch h with Jennifer and Lisa as Avva was off studying with a few girls from her math class for a test coming up. I was loving listening to Lisa talk about how her parents practically went through all the 5 stages of grief in the space of 5 mins when she said she was moving out. There was still a lot to do before we could officially start living together but none of us had any fear or regrets about what we had.
