I was sitting in my chemistry class watching the clock. I had about 5 minutes left until the class was over. This also meant I had about 5 minutes left until Kobi and I left together.
Just the thought of me and him being alone made me so nervous. I was fine during lunch because I had Nija right there next to me. I still have no idea where he's going to take me. I might just be overthinking and he's only planning to take me home. He just said we are leaving and that could mean anything.
Not only that but I've never left school early before. I usually use my study hall to do my homework so I don't have to do it at home. Plus my mom and Amir are super overprotective of me. If Amir knew what I was doing he would have a heart attack.
Speaking of Amir I needed to let him know that I didn't need him to pick me up. I pulled out my phone shooting him a quick text. My phone went off while I was texting my brother.

I liked Kobi's message and checked the time. There were still two minutes left. I pulled out my lipgloss applying a new coat using the camera on my phone. I then began to fix my hair while I still had the camera out.
I had to make sure I looked good before I see him. I would be so hurt if I spent time with him and went home seeing my lips were chapped. The bell rang interrupting my thoughts.
I stopped by my locker first to grab my coat then headed towards the gym. As I approached the gym I saw Kobi and Chris standing outside the gym doors talking. I'm glad they were getting along, Chris is cool and I can see him and Kobi becoming good friends.
Chris's back was to me as he was talking so he couldn't see me coming. Kobi on the other hand saw that I was coming. His eyes glanced up at my face then moved down my body checking me out. The only thing I could think about right now is not tripping over my feet.
Finally approaching the gym doors I smacked Chris on the back of his neck while walking past him to stand next to Kobi.
"Hey, guys!" I said cheerfully.
"Yooo what was that for!?" Chris whined
"I don't know what you're talking about?" I smirked
"Now if I smacked you back I would be wrong" Chris squinted his eyes and pointed at me. I just laughed at him waving him off.
"Ight you ready?" Kobi asked me
This caused Chris to glance back and forth between me and Kobi. A look of realization hit his face and his jaw began to drop. He brought his fist to his mouth with the biggest smile.
"Okayyy okayyy, KB I see you nigga" Chris reached out dapping up Kobi aggressively. Kobi just chuckled shaking his head and accepting his dap.
"Ight let me get out of here, y'all two lovebirds be safe!" Chris was talking while he was backing up to leave. Chris then turned around and left me and Kobi alone.
I shook my head at Chris and then looked at Kobi.
"I'm ready when you are" I shrugged,
"Ight let's go" Kobi nodded his head towards the door. I led the way heading outside. The cold air smacked me in the face as soon as I stepped outside. I quickened my pace, I hate the cold.
Once I got to the car, I stood outside the passenger door waiting for Kobi to unlock it. He was walking slowly to the car as if the cold didn't faze him at all. I brought my fist up to my mouth and blew air into it.
"Anytime today now" I called out to him as he approached the vehicle. He raised his eyebrows shocked that I was rushing him. He might have begun to move slower. He was taking his time pulling his keys out of his pocket. Finally, he unlocked the doors.
