Waking up I sat up rubbing the sleepiness out of my eyes and yawned. I got up and my feet dragged me to the bathroom to pee. After I finished, I washed my hands and then brushed my teeth.
I walked back to my room wondering what time it was. I was worn out from being on the phone so late.
When I got inside, I grabbed my phone off the charger. Turning my phone screen on I checked the time, It was 10:30.
Something else caught my attention while looking at the time. At the top left corner of my phone was the green bubble indicating that I was still on the phone.
No way I fell asleep on the phone without realizing it...
I clicked on the green button and the FaceTime popped up. Kobi's phone gave me a full view of his face as he slept.
He was laying on his stomach facing the camera with his arm under his head. He looked so peaceful. This was unusual compared to the mean mug he usually had.
I took a screenshot for evidence to show Nija when I tell her the tea later. The flash made him stir in his sleep.
Oh no...
I quickly hung up and threw my phone on my bed.
Whew, that was close.
I walked downstairs to go find something to eat. I was starving. Walking into the kitchen I began to smell burnt bacon.
Amir was in the kitchen standing at the stove cooking bacon. From what I smelled he wasn't doing a very good job. He had music playing from his phone and he was rapping along.
"Got a drop on this flexin' nigga, he from Tennessee," He rapped bopping his head.
Nodding my head with him, I opened the fridge, looking for something to drink. I saw some apple juice so I reached and grabbed it. I grabbed a cup from the cupboard and went to open the apple juice.
Before I could even get the apple juice open it was snatched out of my hand.
"This is mine, miss girl," My mother snatched it from me putting it back in the fridge. "And I better not catch none of y'all drinking my juice either," she squinted and pointed at us.
She was dressed up like she was ready to go.
"Where you think you're going?" Amir abandoned his bacon and questioned our mother.
"I'm helping out at the toy drive at the church. You worried about me and you need to be worried about that bacon behind you." She said slipping her coat on. Amir scurried back over to his food on the stove and turned the burner off.
"How long will that be?" I asked.
"Maybe all day, I don't know but I'm staying to help clean up as well." I nodded at her response then continued my quest to find something to eat. My mom left out the door screaming bye and she loved us.
I found some frozen waffles in the freezer and decided to throw a couple in the toaster. Amir was sitting at the island eating his extra-crispy bacon.
"You're sick for eating that," I said referring to his crispy snack.
"Girl you just mad you can't cook like me," He said, devouring his plate like it was his last meal. Once he finished he shot up quickly and put his plate in the sink rinsing it off.
My waffles were done and I was putting butter on top of them. Amir reached into the fridge and grabbed the apple juice pouring himself a cup.
"Mama said don't drink that!" I told
him.
