It has been two days since the McDonald's incident. I haven't seen Amani since. She wasn't in any of my B classes so I didn't see her yesterday at all. We haven't texted much either. I asked her if she needed a ride to school yesterday and she said no.
That day when I got home my mom came in my room and asked me if I was with Amani.
"Did you hang out with Mani today?" She asked leaning on my doorway.
"Yea we just got food," I told her
"Okay, well just be careful with her okay?" She said then walked in kissed my cheek and walked out.
I was so confused but I brushed it off and listened to her. I assume Mani's mom said something to mine. She seemed strict when she called her. I hope I didn't get her into any trouble or anything.
I was walking to my first class expecting to see her in class. She wasn't at her locker when I passed it so that's the only place she could be right now. That's if she came to school.
When I walked in my eyes immediately searched for her in the seat she sat in last time. She wasn't there. I had the urge to ask her where she was but I know it's not my business. Chris was sitting at the table by himself.
The bell rang and I sat next to Chris and dapped him up.
"Wassup Nigga" He looked around, "Where's lil bit?"
"I don't know I haven't seen her" I shrugged
"Ain't that your girl?" He asked me
Lately, there have been some rumors going around about me and Mani. Me personally, I don't mind the rumors. It's basically just people questioning whether or not I'm her nigga. I haven't confirmed or denied anything yet.
I'm not sure how she handles the rumors or how she feels about them so I haven't said anything.
"She not my girl yet," I said, the lights began to dim and the teacher started to play the news.
The door opened and Amani walked in quickly. She was wearing grey sweatpants and a thin grey Nike jacket. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun. She looked good.
She handed the teacher a late pass and walked and sat down next to me. Then she put her head down and groaned.
Me and Chris just looked at each other before looking back at her.
"Uh, you okay lil bit?" Chris asked her cautiously
"No," She said, her voice muffled from her head being down.
"What's wrong ma?" I rubbed her back to comfort her. She sighed and put her head up.
"My stomach has been cramping all morning but my mother forced me to go to school since I missed school yesterday, I barely had any time to get ready this morning because I wasn't expecting to go so I look like a bum and my brother made me late to school because he had to stop somewhere and did I mention my stomach was cramping?" She said all in one breath.
