(Ricks pov)

I walk away from Y/N while Hershel patches her up, I saw that the group had gathered around to see the new comer as I reach the group the questions start flying

' who is that' carol asked

' rick who is she' lori asked

'Why is she here' andra asked

'Rick we need to get rid of her she could be a threat' Shane said aggressively

' Alright that's enough, I wait to have a calm decision about this' I said starting to get irritated, by this point Glenn T-Dog and Maggie had joined us

' alright, now that up there is Y/N Hart, she was passing through look for her brother and is seems she found him, she knows Glenn, the two have know each other for a long time, now I dont know about you but I think we should bring her in ' I pause and look to Glenn ' now, you know Y/N dose she have any skills that could help us survive'

Glenn chuckled ' put it this way, with our current problem, you would be stupid to turn down her help, she's like a female version of Daryl, she can .....' Glenn was interrupted by Shane sarcastically laugh

' yeah that all we need a female version of Daryl walking around, except this one has hormones that are constantly changing' he says, I look a Glenn who is slightly annoyed

' what I was trying to say is, is that like Daryl she can hunt and track, and if we let her into the group and she finds out that it is a kid that's missing, she will turn into an airport security dog that looks for drugs, but this would her finding Sophia, im telling she is an asset' he finishes

' how do you know that's what she'll do that, I mean no offence but she doesn't even know us' carol ask with a bit of hope in her voice

' look Y/N has a soft spot for kids, we were walking home one day from the grocery store, all of a sudden we here this mother calling out her kids name, we looked over and this three yr old was heading straight into traffic, the mother was too far away, and he kid would have been gone by the time his mother got to him, Y/N all of a sudden drops the bags and starts sprinting for this kid and she go there just in time, if not for Y/N that kid would be dead, and that was for a complete stranger ...' he stops and takes a deep breath and looks at carol ' im telling you the minute she finds out Sophia is missing, she is going to bombard you with question so she knows who she is looking for' Glenn finished

I looked around the group and its as if a new sense of hope has sweped the group

' so what do you all want to do' I asked

' I say we give her a chance' lori said

'If she'll help find my baby, then yes' carol said

The others slowly agrees after her, I new Shanes stand but Daryl had been quit and hadn't said said anything yet, so I got his attention

'Daryl , what about you, you'll be would closely with her'

He looked at me a replied ' two is better that one and if she can hunt it means more food for everyone'

' she we are all in agreement, she stays' I look around and they all nods, I look over and see Glenn with the biggest smile on his face

'Glenn, get Y/N over here' I say

(Y/N pov)

Im sitting on the verandah watching the group as they talk about me, I really hope they let me in, I don't know what I'd do if they don't, I dont have anyone left

While I was spaced out, I hadn't realised Hershel had finish, so he tapped me on the shoulder getting my attention

'There all done,  but I have to say it will scar, sorry I can't do anything else' Hershel said in a sad tone

I smile up at him and replied 'its all right, as long as I don't bleed out, im all a good'

He let out a small chuckle while bandaging my arm, I look over at the group and see Glenn looking at me with a smile on his face, while waving me over, I looked over at Hershel with a smile and said

' well it looks like I'm being summond, let's see wait my fate is'

Again Hershel smiled and chuckled at me, I stood up and walked over to the group, I stopped next to Glenn with everyone staring at me.

Rick started talk to me ' so we have decided to let you join us, Glenn has told us how valuable you can be to this group, so I'll introduce you everyone, that Andrea, carol, Dale, you know T-dog, Shane, Daryl, he's out hunter here so you'll be working with him and this is my wife Lori, you'll meet our son carl later, his currently recovering at the moment, anyway ...'

I cut Rick off 'recovering from what'

I look at Rick with a worried

'He was shot yesterday yesterday and Hershel had to operate on him to get the bullet' rick explained

The next thing I did surprised everyone i gave both rick and lori a hug

'I'm so sorry, but at least he'll make a full recovery ' I pulled out the hug and give them both a smile and step back beside Glenn

' OK, so what do you want me to do' I ask

'You could fuck off, and go elsewhere' I heard Shane mutter under his breath

'What was that Shane' I ask walk up to him crossing my arms

'Nothing ' he quickly said

'Let's get one thing, i dont like you, you don't like me and that's fine, but let's get one clearly do not cross me, i am not a pushover and  I'm not afraid to drop you on your ass, so you stay out of my way and ill stay out of your' I said glaring at him

I turn around to rick and ask again ' what do you need me to do'

'We need your help locating a missing girl, carols daughter' rick said in a sad tone

I felt the colour drain from my face, a little girl is lost in these woods

'OK, get a map, tell me what happen from the start, every detail, from the start to round about coordinates to where you lost her, and where you've searched, any detail you can give me even if it sounds stupid you tell me' i say determined
