Chapter - 30

(Y/N pov)

I woke up to a baby crying and i was confused at first, then i remembered what happen yesterday, pulling out of my sad thoughts, i got up slowly making sure i didn't wake Carl, once i made sure he was still asleep I walked out of my cell to go find baby Grimes. i walked into the cell she was is a saw a passed-out Beth.

'She must be exhausted from looking after baby Grimes all night.' i thought.

i pick the baby up and take her out to the common area and start preparing a bottle while i do this i starting singing trying to calm the baby down a bit.

Baby Grimes started to calm down while I waited for how bottle to warm up

I gave her the bottle and kept singing, while slowly rocking her

After Baby G had finished her bottle, she fell asleep as I finished the song, little did I know everyone had woken up and was listen to me.

(Third person Pov)

Everyone was sitting in the common area silently eating breakfast. Carl just sat there staring at his food, so Y/n nudge him, Carl looked at Y/N and she smiled sadly at him.

"You need to eat" she said softly, before he could reply, everyone heard slow footsteps and the sound of the prison door opening, everyone looked up to see Rick.

"Everybody ok" Rick asked and Y/n looked down at Baby G who was sleeping in her arms and avoided looking at Rick, she still felt guilty about what happened to Lori.

"Yeah, we are." Maggie answered as rick walked closer to the group, Y/n cowered from where she was sitting, and she would have run away if it wasn't for the sleeping baby I her arms.

"What about you?" Hershel asked.

"I cleared out the boiler block." Rick answered.

"How many were there?" Daryl asked

"I don't know. A dozen, two dozen. I have to get back. Just wanted to check on Carl." Rick said and started to walk back towards the tunnels but was cut off by Glen

"Rick, we can handle taking out the bodies. You don't have to."

"No, I do." Rick pauses and walks over to Daryl "Everyone have a g*n and a Knife?" rick ask him

"Yeah. We're running low on ammo, though." Daryl tells him

Maggie, Y/n and i were planning on making a run this afternoon. Found a phone book with some places we can hit, look for bullets and formula." Glen tells Rick

"We cleared out the generator room. Axel's there trying to fix it in case of emergency. We're gonna sweep the lower levels as well. " Daryl informs Rick

"Good, good." Rick said as he walked back into the tunnels.

"Rick." Glenn calls but is ignored and Rick slams the door to the tunnels. After everyone has finished eating Daryl and Ocsar get ready to sweep the levels. Daryl looks over and sees Carl just sitting there.
