I Will Always Find You || Daryl Dixon

Chapter 6

(Y/N pov)

Everyone stood there looking at me as if I was crazy,

'What, i cant find her if I dont know what happened' you say everyone still staring at me

'I guess Glenn was, right you do have a soft spot for kids' Rick says with a small smile

I turn and look at Glenn who looks down and away from me, an evil smirk appears on my face as I say jokingly 'Glenn, your a dead man'

I look away and back at Rick, he goes and starts explaining what happen to carols daughter Sophia, tells me they were on a highway when a herd came through and most of them hid under cars, sophia was by herself, after the herd had passed she thought it was safe and started coming out when a walker walked by and noticed her and  started crawling after, sophia rolled out from underneath the car to get away from it and under the gard post when it and another chased her into the bush, Rick ran after her and had to hid and told her how to get back to the highway, he left and ran so he  could draw the walkers away from her, after dealing with the walkers he went back for her but she wasn't there any assumed she went back, he got back to the highway expecting her to be there but she wasn't

Daryl then took over and explained where they had been on the map that was out in front of us, I stand there rubbing my face processing all the information

I take a deep breath and say 'OK, chance are she's held up in a farm house or barn like I was, she's wont be thinking properly, she probably dehydrated, starving and most of all scared, so I think darly and I will go start looking and see what we can fine, can I have my weapons back?' I finish

Everyone starts look at each other and I see the hesitation in the faces

' look if I was going to hurt any of you I would have done it by now and Glenn seem to trust you all, so I trust you, and Glenn has clearly opened his big mouth about me so unless someone this is me off, I pretty go with the flow' I say as a matter of fact

'OK, you can have you weapons' Rick says

'Awesome, now let me change my top and then we can go, were are my bags' I ask

'There in front of my tent over there' Glenn says while pointing

I walk over to the tent and don't even bother to getting in the tent to change, I take my blood stained singlet off leaving me in my bar and put my gray singlet back on with my green jacket

I turn around to see all the guys except Glenn staring at me i grab my weapons and thrown my bags in Glenn tent

' I get you a photo guys it will last longer' I say with an amused smile on my face

I walk to daryl to daryl 'ready to go'

'Yeah, he grunted out

We started walking, when someone called my name, I turned around to see Glenn

' hey, im going on a run with Maggie is there anything you need or want' he ask

' yeah can you get some self- rasing flour if you can fine any' I ask

'Sure, can wait to eat that I miss it' he says

I wave bye and I continue on walking with Daryl

(Daryl pov)

Y/N and I have been walking for a while and I cant help but look over at her, she's so beautiful with her blue eyes and dirty blond hair, makes me feel things, I should probably forget about it, she'll never go for a redneck like me, although, she did ask for me to pat her down, i have to admit I like the feeling of her skin below my fingers, I wouldn't mind doing that again

One this that has got me wondering is was she never wants Shane around her I mean she she just met the guy,

'Hey, quick question' I say grabbing her attention

'Why don't ya want Shane around ya, I mean you only just met' I finish

She looks at me with an amused smile

'You know for a hunter you either don't seeing which is dumb or you do and you want want to know what i see' she finish

I look at unamused and she smiles

'Its in his eyes, they've just got that crazed look in them, when you all had your weapons pointed at me he was looking for any reason to shoot me, Rick had his gun aimed at me because he was just being protective, which I understand, T-dog couldnt cause he was  holding my horse and you ... ' she stopped and turn around to look at me ' you were a combination of Rick and Shane, you were looking for and reason to shoot me like Shane but it was out of protectiveness like Rick' she finishes

I was about go off a her for comparing me to Shane, ima nothing like that asshole, but after she finish I finally understood what they she ment, as we continue walk i was in my head until I felt a nudge against my arm, I snap out of my thought and look at Y/N and she pointed toward an abandoned farmhouse in the middle on woods, we slowly made our way to house, quietly walking in, I went up the stairs to see if there was anything up there while Y/N looked down stairs

After clearing upstairs, I walked down to see Y/N look at an open tin with the cupboard open

' what you hungry now ' I say with a smirk

'Fuck off, this tin its still wet and the cupboard looks like it had someone held up in it' she says

I walk over and see what she's taking about, I quickly walk out side

' SOPHIA!!' I call

'SOPHIA!!' I hear Y/N call

I look around and see some Cherokee roses, I pick one and examine it

'Whats that' I hear Y/N ask

'It's a Cherokee Rose. Do you know ow the story' I ask

She shakes her head no

'The story is that when American soldiers were moving Indians off their land on the Trail of Tears, the Cherokee mothers were grieving and crying so much 'cause they were losing their little ones along the way from exposure and disease and starvation. A lot of them just disappeared. So the elders, they said a prayer; asked for a sign to uplift the mothers' spirits, give them strength and hope. The next day this rose started to grow where the mothers' tears fell' I finish and look towards Y/N, she was staring at me with a soft smile on her face

'Thats was really sweet, you should pick one and give it to carol and tell her the story she could use some hope' Y/N said softly

I picked one and we made our way back to the farm.
