Chapter - 19

(Y/N POV)

We got back to the farm to see everyone walking into the house so we go in and wait, Daryl leans against the wall and i stand not to far away from him with my arms cross, I stand in silence when rick turns around and looks at me with an intense stare on his face

"What" I ask confused, and he just keeps staring, I feel some slap me shoulder and look over to see Daryl, all he dose is flick his head backwards, I look behind me and see Carl, his pants were covered in mud in some place and he had mud on his shirt, I looked at him a smirked

"Kid have you been wrestling with a croc ot something" I ask, and he just look at me like deer caught in head lights

"N-n-no, I just fell" he stuttered

"Ok, going on off you go" I point to upstairs, and he turn and walks  upstairs,  we all stand there is silence waiting to here the door close, after that we all just stood there

"So how do we do this? Just take a vote?" Glenn ask the group breaking the silence

"Does it have to be unanimous?" Andrea ask

"How about majority rules?" Lori puts her opinion in

"Well, let's-- let's just see where everybody stands, then we can talk through the options." Rick announced

"Well, where I sit, there's only one way to move forward." Shane said obnoxiously

"killing him, right?" Dale exclaimed "I mean, why even bother to even take a vote? It's clear which way the wind's blowing."

"Well, if people believe we should spare him, I wanna know." Rick said calmly

"Well, I can tell you it's a small group...Maybe just me and Glenn." Dale said then looks to Glenn,  Glenn avoid eye contact with him before look up at Dale

"Look, I...I think you're pretty much right about everything, all the time, but this..." before Glenn can finish Dale interrupts him

"They've got you scared."Dale yells at him

"He's not one of us.And we've-- we've lost too many people already." Glenn retorts back sadly

"How about you? Do you agree with this?" He looks at Maggie and she just stays silent before saying

"Couldn't we continue keeping him prisoner?"

"Just another mouth to feed." Daryl say standing up straight and folding his arms

"It may be a lean winter." Hershel tell everyone

"We could ration better." Lori suggest

"Well, he could be an asset, Give him a chance to prove himself." Dale tries to persuade everyone

"Put him to work?" Glenn suggested

"We're not letting him walk around." Rick tells everyone

"We could put an escort on him." Maggie

"Who wants to volunteer for that duty?" Shane said smugly

"I will." Dale quickly answered

"I don't think any of us should be walking around with this guy." Rick said shouting down the idea for Randall walking around

"He's right,I wouldn't feel safe unless he was tied up." Lori said agreeing with Rick

"And yet they let me walk around" I muttered under my breath, I heard a small chuckle beside me and look to see Daryl looking at me while smiling

"We can't exactly put chains around his ankles, sentence him to hard labor." Andrea

"Look, say we let him join us, right? Maybe he's helpful, maybe he's nice. We let our guard down and maybe he runs off, brings back his 30 men." Shane argues
