AN: If the text is italic then those are her thoughts. Just letting you know so there's no confusion :)
Grace turned and turned in her bed, but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't sleep. There were just too many thoughts floating in her head. She was worried about this 'dark lord' that's rising and for the safety of her friends as well as everyone else in the wizarding world.
She just stared up at the ceiling listening to the sound of the rain hitting the windows, and the sound of thunder that followed occasionally. It was also the full moon.
Quitely she got a scarf and her glasses then waled out of the dorm wearing her slippers while wrapping the soft yellow scarf around her shoulders. If there was one ick she had, it was walking around anywhere without slippers or shoes. She didn't like the feeling.
She knew that Filch would be patrolling the halls - thanks to her brother - so she made sure to stay as quite as possible hiding in the shadows. She made her way to the Gryffindor common room to find her brother or one of the 'marauders' as that's what they liked to be called.
It was a habit of hers. Whenever she couldn't sleep she'd go to them and one of them would just hold her and she'd fall asleep in their arms. It was mostly James because he somehow always knew when she couldn't sleep and would wake up seconds before she walked into their dorm. Sometimes it was one of the other boys.
She said the password to the fat lady and walked up the stairs leading to the boys dormitory. Slowly and as quitely as humanly possible she opened the door on which was written 'The Marauders'. However, when she walked in it was empty.
That's weird
It was unlike them to not be in their room. They could be out pranking one of the Slytherins, but their was a big match against Ravenclaw and Gryffindor in the morning, so that seemed unlikely as James would've slept early. Grace looked around a bit when she finally looked up and out the window.
There she saw three blurred figures walking towards the whomping willow, and just twenty feet away was another figure that looked to be following them.
After having a mental argument with herself she finally walked out of the dorm, and out the castle in the direction of the whomping willow.
Since it was still raining she was soaked head to toe and had to constantly clean her glasses, but that was no use because she didn't have a dry cloth with her. She mentally face palmed for forgetting her wand, but continued towards the wild tree nonetheless making sure to hid a few feet away in the bushes.
She had seen one of the figures dissapear then the whomping willow freezing in place a second later. The two other figures walking towards it then dissapearing as well. The final figure that was following them also dissapeard in the tree a minute later.
From what she could tell all 5 of those figures looked to be male, but she couldn't be sure as it was raining and she couldn't see clearly because she had kept her glasses in her pocket while she was hiding.
She shook her head determined to find out what was going on. She walked towards the tree while it still frozen slowly at first but then chose to speed walk. However, just to her luck the tree started to move it's branches wildly again one of them narrowly missing her small figure.
She immediately moved to the side trying not to get hit by one of the branches. She got up off the grass and moved her short hair out of the way. Before she could take even one step she felt a blow to her stomach. She was thrown back about five feet from the branch. Grace hit the ground with such force that her breath was caught in her throat.
She could barely breath and was paralyzed for a few minutes because of the sudden shock. She couldn't speak, and she realised that she lost her voice. She tried to turn over and get up but as soon as she did pain shot through her back. She didn't even realise she was crying until she could barely see straight. Her vision was blurred as she tried to push herself up.
Finally, after what felt like an hour she got up and shakily walked towards the castle. She could barely walk either. Using the wall for support she made her way back to her dorm. She barely got away from Filch.
By the time Grace got to her dorm her breathing had slowly started to even out, but the pain she felt was horrible. But she pulled through just like she did during her time of the month when her stomach was basically ripping itself apart inside of her.
It wasn't that bad, right?
She collapsed on the bed which was now soaked because of her hair and clothes. After resting for another minute she got up and went to the bathroom to take a bath. Grace took of her clothes and looked in the mirror. She noticed that a bruise was forming. She was glad that the uniform covered her back and everything fully so it wouldn't be noticeable to anyone. She took her glasses out of her pocket and silently cursed when she saw that it was broken. She got her wand and muttered, 'repairo' under hear breath. She placed the now fixed glasses on the counter, and stripped getting into the now filled bath. She relaxed in the hot water the pain in her back slowly going away. Before she knew it she had fallen asleep.
