Grace smiled, actually smiled. It was a full blown, happy smile. It was rare to get smiles out of her these days. But when Regulus said that she was breathtaking, she couldn't help the flutter in her chest or the racing of her heart. He was the king of her heart. He ruled her little kingdom and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Further leaning into his touch, she looked up at him - at those stormy grey-blue eyes that always made her stop and just stare for a moment. She took a deep breath, holding both his hands in hers and leaned back a bit, trusting Regulus to not let her accidentally trip and fall. She looked up at the sky as the rain soaked them, laughing a bit. Merlin, this was the first time she felt so alive and happy since the death of her parents.

Regulus smiled as he watched her, glad that she was finally going back to herself. Slowly but surely. She looked back at him with a big smile, noticing the look on his face.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Grace asked with a small laugh.

"Like what?" He asked softly.

"Like that."

"Like what? What are you talking about, amore?"

"I don't know. Like- like you are obsessed with me or something." She muttered with a blush on her cheeks as she looked up at him.

He grinned in that boyish way he did and held the back of her head to kiss her forehead gently. "Well, if it wasn't obvious baby, I am a bit obsessed with you."

Grace's heart fluttered and she smiled, looking away for a moment until Regulus listed her chin gently to make her look at him once more. He was looking at her in that sweet, loving way he always did. Merlin, he might act like a bastard towards others, but towards her, he was amazing. He treated her like she was a queen. His queen. He was everything she could have ever asked for and vice versa.

He held the hair at the back of her head and left a gentle kiss on her lips before kissing her cheek and neck. "I. Love. You, Gracie Potter. My queen. My world. Mon amé. My everything. I'm here for you, always."

Grace couldn't control the blush on her cheeks as he kissed her. She loved his touch. It made her feel safe. Happy. Protected.

"I love you too, Reggie." She whispered, hugging him tightly and he immediately wrapped his around her, holding her tight in his embrace. Taking a deep, shaky breath, she held onto him, seeking his warmth under the rain. Oh how she loved the rain. So much. Even better if he was with her.

Ending of 6th year

Grace was in Regulus' dorm room as he packed to go home. She was sitting on his bed, watching him with a worried look on her face.

"Are you sure you don't want to stay at mine this year?" She asked softly, hoping he'd accept her offer. Her parents might not be around anymore but she was living at the Pettigrews. At least, until a few more months. As soon as James becomes an Auror and married Lily like he planned on doing, they'd move out and Grace would live with her brother and new soon-to-be sister-in-law.

Regulus sighed and stopped packing so he could meet her eyes, shaking his head. "You know I can not, Mon amé." As much as it pained them both, they knew that he couldn't leave his house. Not if he wanted to end up getting cruciod again. And neither of them wanted that to happen.

Grace pursed her lips and looked away. Even though she knew that that would be his response, she still couldn't help the tinge of disappointment inside her. She so desperately wanted him to stay with her and take him out of the hellhole that was home. But she knew she couldn't. She couldn't do that. Not unless she wanted his situation to get worse. Which was the last thing she wanted.

AN: So there's going to be a bit of time skips in this. Small small moments before the actual cave thing. I might extend the chapters and add longer scenes, but it will be hard since I have my A level exams in October. But I'll try my best!

QOTD: Do you think Regulus will die or survive?
