"I'm okay. Let me go with you." Grace said, wanting to prove that she was doing well after everything that happened over her sixth year and the summer. After seventh year,  James became an Auror along with Lily and he took care of Grace, both of them moving back into their home.

However, Regulus still found Grace crying at night and distancing herself every now and then. He hated those moments, because anytime he tried to help her, she'd push him away. He despised it. And now, she was insisting on going to the cave with him, which was the last thing he wanted.

She couldn't go with him. It was dangerous and Regulus knew that there was a chance he wouldn't make it back alive. He didn't want to take that risk with Grace there. She deserved to live here so Ife to the fullest. Not be plagued by such horrors. In his eyes, the world didn't deserve Grace. She was too sweet. Too good for this cruel, unfair world.  Even he didn't deserve her. But he would keep her. Because she was his and he was going to protect her until his very last breath.

If he died, then he'd find a way to come back and be with her even in death.

"No." His tone was firm and he was set on making sure she stayed as far away from the cave as possible. He wasn't going to put her life at risk.

Grace held his hand in hers and kissed his cheek, hoping that maybe with a little affection, he'd give in. But he didn't.

"Please, Reggie. I can help." She insisted, already thinking of ways she could get to the cave if he still refused to let her go with him. Instead, Regulus took hold of her wrists and gave her a look when she tried to move her hands lower. He knew what she was doing. But this was something he wouldn't change his mind about.

Grace sighed and nodded with a frown still etched onto her face as she pulled away from him and left his dorm. Regulus tried to stop her and get her to understand, but she just left, refusing to listen. She wanted to help. She knew that she could help. And she wasn't going to give up so easily. Two weeks ago, she woke up drenched in sweat and breathing heavily after having a nightmare of something pulling at Regulus in a dark place. From what she remembered, there was water. She dreamt of Regulus drowning. And she couldn't help this feeling that there was something wrong about that cave. Something they were missing. But Regulus was sure that they were ready. Or at least, he was ready.

She was about to go to the Gryffindor tower to her brother when she remembered that he was no longer here. He graduated a few months ago. Feeling overwhelmed, she went outside to the Quidditch pitch. It was raining this evening. Rain helped her relax. So, she took off her jacket and stood in the middle of the pitch, letting the rain soak her hair and clothes. She didn't even bother to take her glasses off.

Suddenly, she felt a hand on her waist and the scent of ink, books and a smell that was just so him that she just knew. She slowly opened her eyes after keeping them closed to soak in the moment and turned to meet his stormy eyes.

"Are you trying to get sick, mon cœur?" He asked, holding her hand and looking into her eyes. His hair was soaked and so were his clothes as they stood in the rain.

"If I say yes?"

"Then I would carry you back to my dorm and make sure to get that stubbornness out of you." He shrugged as if he was just talking normally talking about how his day went. But then again, he didn't really tell people about his day. It was a good thing that Gracie wasn't people. She was his and vice versa.

Grace blushed and leaned into his side a bit but she still didn't plan on getting out of the rain. Holding his hands, she walked backwards and pulled him towards her, enjoying the feeling of rain falling on them.

"But I like the rain. Stay with me." She said, wanting to dance and mess around in the rain with him. Even though she was still mad at him for refusing to let her help, she couldn't help but want to stay by his side even then. Besides, it wasn't like she could stay mad. She understood his point of view. She knew he was right. But he also needed to understand that she was deathly scared that something would go wrong. And after her dream, she was restless and anxious about Regulus going alone.

Regulus hesitated for a moment before relenting. He sighed and nodded, letting himself be pulled away by his girlfriend as she made him spin her around. He couldn't help the smile on his face when she laughed happily, glad to see her spark slowly - very slowly - returning again after her parents' deaths.

His smile grew a bit at her happiness and he pulled her back into his arms when she spinned herself again while holding his hand in hers. Her breath caught in her throat when she hit his chest and his arms wrapped around her waist. She looked up into his eyes, momentarily getting lost in them as he stared at the little sparkle in her eyes. Her small smile. The way her eyes crinkled, showing that she was happy - even with the war and everything going on in the wizarding world around them.

"You are breathtaking." He murmured, his left hand resting on her cheek now while he kept his right on her waist. He couldn't help but soak in the moment. The way she spun herself around in the rain, the way she smiled, her laugh. Watching her was an addiction he had. One he would never be able to get rid of. Not that he wanted to in the first place.
